Casa Vela at Rancho el Porvenir
Casa Vela at Rancho el Porvenir
This is a magnificent, 4500 sq foot beachfront tree-house on our 100-acre oceanfront property, a nature preserve nestled among some of the Mayan Riviera's leading hotels. You will wake up to the sunrise with the ocean at your feet! The house has 2 lovely master suites, each with a king bed and sitting area, plus 2 large queen bedrooms, each with two queen beds. Each bedroom has a limestone, wood, and glass-enclosed shower and a separate toilet room. The living area is under a high palapa-style thatched roof, open to the ocean, and features all hand-hewn tables and chairs, built by our craftsmen on-site using sections from the 54 enormous tree trunks that support the home above the beach. The house exhibits lovely workmanship, with all furniture, floors, walls and ceilings designed and fabricated by our team using sustainably harvested hardwoods.
My partners, Alberto and Gloria Bache, live at the entrance to the ranch and are fluent in English. They are available to advise you on your adventures in the region, from hiking the Mayan pyramids to zip-lining through the treetops. They can also escort you on walks through the property, home to a wide variety of parrots, monkeys, deer, tejones, and Jabali.
Adjacent freshwater springs ("cenotes") are just 100 yards away and offer fabulous swimming and snorkeling. You may also arrange for the nearby dive shop to take you on their launch to the reef just 1 km offshore for snorkeling or diving or enroll in their PADI course.

The staff were amazing and made our stay so special. The owners and staff went out of their way for the youngest among us with crib, car seat, baby formula and diapers at the ready. My daughters and I felt safe and secure. The only negative was that red tide had enveloped the area and so the beaches were not great. However, swimming in the cenotés was fabulous.”

We had a great week at Casa Vela. It is a really unique property that is only about 50 feet from the ocean. Nice breeze and waves all day. The Bedrooms are all well appointed and the set up is perfect for a beach vacation. However, the best part is the staff, especially. The prepared meals were all fresh and bountiful and all needs were addressed immediately. The co-owner, Alberto, was great to work with. We hope to return soon!”

There are no words to describe what we experienced at Casa Vela. This home was absolutely stunning, the bedrooms were over the top luxurious, the outdoor living area was perfection. The meals...OMG...the food was delicious and bountiful and the staff was the kindest bunch. Thank you thank you thank you!! I will never forget our amazing trip to Bruce's home!!!”
