Absolutely amazing!

Keith was amazing walking us through the entire process of getting 8 of us to the lodge. It is an absolutely stunning property. Livingston and his staff are awesome. It was our first time in S. Africa and we saw the big 5 in 4 days at Tsheshepe. It is incredible to have the whole property for your group. The reserve has other lodging and all the guides work together to see game. If you are in S Africa do not miss a chance to stay here.”

Magical!

If you have a chance to book Tsheshepe Lodge-do it! Keith Stannard was our contact and he was so helpful and kind with our millions of questions (none of the 9 of us had ever been to Africa so we needed lots of hand holding!) The lodge is luxurious while also feeling laid back. We had the place to ourselves as it is only available for one group of 10 at a time. The staff absolutely spoiled us with gourmet meals and a sparkling clean lodge and guest houses. We couldn’t believe all of the animals we saw up close and personal with our game driver, Elias. He grew up in the area and his knowledge, love and respect of the land and the animals was so inspiring. Livingston is a gourmet chef and manager who outdid himself 3 meals a day and obviously loves his role at Tsheshepe. Helen and Johanna kept our rooms clean and cozy and did lots of laundry for us. They even sang for us on a couple of nights and moved us to tears. Simon was always around when we needed anything and his charming smile and soothing presence was greatly appreciated. I would love to post photos but can’t see a way to do that here-I did tag Third Home on my photos on IG and FB. This was the trip of a lifetime for us and our friends. Fabulous

Staying at Tsheshepe reminds one of the role that amazing staff adds to one’s experience. Steven and his team had us in stitches many a time and ensured that we experienced magnificent game viewing throughout the week. It was a privilege to have the entire lodge to our family of 7 and we were all in awe of the beauty of the Welgevonden game reserve. We enjoy visiting game reserves and Welgevonden ranks with the best. Do yourself a favour and grab the opportunity to stay at this lovely lodge in a magnificent game reserve. We used Waterberg transfers from Johannesburg and we were impressed with their service. ”

A Dream Experience

Simply amazing. The lodge very comfortably accommodated my wife and I and two other couples. We felt like kings and queens. From the facility, the staff, the food and the game drives.. our vacation was a dream come true. Thank you Steven, Livingston, Mrs. B and Simon for all your kindness and wonderful service. AMAZING SAFARI, LODGE, AND STAFF

The Tsheshepe Lodge offers the complete safari experience that cannot be surpassed. Steven, the guide and lodge manager, is the most experienced on the reserve. As a result, we saw all of the animals, not just passing for a snap shot, but witnessing the interactions and life styles of the different animals. Every day was a new adventure. In addition to superb game drives, we were treated each day by Livingston to food equivalent to that of a 5 star restaurant. All of the talented staff were helpful, yet not intrusive, and were very responsive to our needs, desires, and schedules. They all added to the harmonious atmosphere of the beautifully furnished and comfortable lodge. Thank you, Heather, for such an opportunity. We plan to return.”

Best Safari experience ever!

Our fourth Safari and the best by far. Shocked I was able to book it through third home! This is a 5 star world class private lodge in a huge game reserve with about 60 other similar small lodges, which you rarely see. The big five are there in abundance. Our driver/spotter Steve was the best, could see anything miles away, far before the other lodges could see and would radio them the location and turn about was fair play and he was highly respected. All 5 cottages are large, meticulous and cleaned twice daily. Livingston the cook turned out one fabulous meal after another, Simon helped out Steve, and Mama "B" and Eunice took care of all the rest. We filled it up with 10 best friends and felt like we had our own piece of paradise all to ourselves, unlike some other "upscale" lodges (like Shambala....down the road) where you are a guest in a nice hotel. No "home" to go to. Everything a week in the bush should be and more! Now just have to find 8 more friend if it ever is available again!”

Amazing experience at a great location. Never got tired of the Safari. Lodge was immaculate. Staff was incredible. Stephen, our guide and the rest of the staff made the trip magical. Livingston,is an execellt chef. Highly recommend and will return.”

African Adventure

Can't recommend Tsheshepe Safari Lodge highly enough. An unfenced 5-star lodge in the African bush, wonderful staff and great cuisine. The animals stole the show - waking up to baboons and impala wandering past your bedroom, a lion kill 200 meters from your front door, up-close-and-personal with lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhino and so many more. Do try and see the Vaalwater singers and dancers if possible. Thank you Heather and Colin for sharing your unique property.”

Pure Magic!!!

A more magical experience has not been had! The lodge was beautiful, cabins were spotless and very well stocked and the staff ... there are no words! Having the entire lodge to ourselves made the experience that much more special. The lodge manager /game driver, Steven, was exceptional. What a treat to be able to learn and spend a week with someone that grew up in the bush! He worked tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect ... and everything was! Livingston, the cook was wonderful. Betty and Aniki were kind, friendly and professional. Every one of them made our week fabulous. We had quite an experience when 2 lionesses decided to make Tsheshepe their home! That, in and of itself, was unforgettable. We were constantly reminded that we were guests in the wild kingdom and we were the ones that had to remain aware. Our only poor experience had nothing to do with Tsheshepe but a company that we contracted with for transfers to and from the lodge and a day of horseback - Boruntho Travel. Liorna (owner of the travel company) was dishonest and caused some real issues with our ride back to the airport. I would caution anyone to have any dealings with that company. Steven, our lodge manager, was the saving grace that got us to the airport on time and went out of his way to make sure that we were all taken care of. Thank you for an experience of a lifetime! ”
