November 2021Amazing Home!
The Mission Bay Villa is a beautiful home in an incredible setting. The home is designed in a way that provides three separate master bedrooms which all have separate outdoor entries. This worked out well for the three couples in our travel party. The ground floor has a shared outdoor dining area which was the main area we got together as a group. The only downside to the house was the wifi did not work on the top floor master bedroom. The highlight of the stay was the meals provided by Anthony. Full meals for three days come with the stay, and we hired him at a very reasonable cost to cook us dinner on the other days as well. Our favorite meal was when he prepared the lionfish (an invasive species) we brought home from a dive trip. Every meal Anthony prepared was better than our restaurant experiences. The villa comes with a 4 seat golf cart that can get you into Placencia in 15-20 minutes. This was handy but it was nice having the SUV we rented in Belize City for the trip. The 3-hour drive down to Placencia was beautiful. As long as you have transportation, we prefer staying up on the peninsula versus down in Placencia. The diving was fantastic, but it requires a 1-2 hour boat trip to get out to the reef. I would highly recommend Silk Caye and Glover's Reef if you are divers. We definitely recommend a trip to Placencia, but be aware that the county has very strict covid regulations currently. This includes a national curfew at 9pm (1 night in jail for the first violation) which prevented us from being able to do any night diving, vaccine requirements even to eat outdoors at restaurants, and a requirement to wear a mask at all times outdoors. Once things return to normal we would love to return to Belize. ”

December 2018UnBelizeable!!
What a fun vacation! We had a group of eight woman and were later joined by of the two husbands -- and the house was super comfortable for all. The ocean views are spectacular, the location is great and loved the near-by spa and various restaurants, all within walking, golf cart or biking distance. The caretakers and cook on the property were so kind, thoughtful and always so cheerful. Having never been to Belize before, I left with a big smile on y face -- hoping to return again soon. Lauren was suer kind and accommodating -- another fabulous 3rd Home experience for me!”
