October 2021Views and Comfort
We enjoyed our stay at Villa Marin. First, the owner is very responsive and provided great directions for the house. Off street parking right at the front door is a nice benefit. The tall windows in the living room offer a fantastic view of Mt. Tamalpais and the bay of Sausalito. Having a gas fireplace was nice at night and early mornings. It has a nice dining area that we used when we invited friends over who had moved to the area. We only used the master bedroom and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Other bedrooms looked more basic. We lived like a local on a locals street. Which was fun for us. Mostly ate dinners, out visiting local restaurants, Sonoma and San Francisco. We enjoyed seeing live music at The No Name Bar in Sausalito with friendly bartenders and locals. Town was a quick drive and we walked it once for exercise. Sausalito is a great location for people like us who wanted to try something different from San Francisco. Although, we did take the easy drive into downtown S.F. once. Ferry is also an option. So why the four stars instead of five? The kitchen is outdated, worn and in need of a really good deep clean. Decks need refinishing. Deck furniture is very basic. But, we were so comfortable and had such a nice trip, those issues were easily overlooked. For the truly discriminating vacationers, this might not be your place. But for those who like living like a local in a great town/beautiful area, enjoy great views, comfortable couches and a master bedroom, this is your place. ”
