October 2024Luxury relaxation
My family and I had an unforgettable vacation at this beautiful property in Bahia! The house was open, airy, and incredibly relaxing. It had a spacious central area and a well-equipped kitchen where we enjoyed gathering. Each bedroom was a spacious master suite with its own bathroom, powerful A/C, comfortable mattresses, fresh linens, and even mini-fridges and mosquito bed nets. Although we packed bug spray, we barely used it, even on the few nights when the bugs were a bit more active. The location turned out to be ideal. We were within walking distance of Praia do Espelho, and Trancoso was just a one-hour drive away. The private gated community was a wonderful surprise. We felt very safe, thanks to the 24hr security and the peaceful atmosphere. The architecture was stunning with beautiful multimillion-dollar homes that perfectly balanced Bahia’s natural simplicity with tasteful luxury. There were some fantastic dining options on-site, serving Brazilian, Italian, and Japanese cuisine, as well as a market and a charming wine cellar where we found great wine, liquor, and cigars. The amenities kept us entertained: tennis and beach tennis courts, a volleyball court, a soccer field, a nine-hole golf course, a lovely little church, and even a polo field! The kids loved the playground and the multiple pools, each with a bar and restaurant offering healthy options for everyone. The property manager, Amaral, was amazing. Quick to reply, super professional, and genuinely helpful. He went above and beyond, even arranging for massages and nail services right at the house. The chef and housekeeper were absolutely worth the extra cost; they took care of everything, including making sure the groceries from our list were delivered, and cooked anything we wish! Including local Bahia meals, green juice, seafood, and anything else we asked! They were extremely pleasant and very organized. The property owner, Mario was a pleasure to work with. Very nice and responsive, reaching out months before our stay, checking in during our visit, and following up afterward. We also spent a day on a boat that Amaral recommended, and it was such a fun experience! I’d definitely suggest it to anyone staying here. Our trip in October had a bit of rain, but plenty of sunshine to make up for it. All in all, it was an amazing stay, and I can’t wait to go back!”

February 2020A special place!
We visited Viela da Vista in February and hosted 4 other couples. It’s a beautiful, quiet, private community. Mario went out of his way to make sure that our stay was perfect. He was so helpful in planning our stay and while we were there. We began with a day in Rio and wished we had stayed two! We had a driver and guide show us the high points but there was more to experience. If you’re going all that way, I recommend spending a few days in Rio. After Rio, we flew to Puerto Seguro, rented a car and drove the 1.5 hours to the house. We found that cell service was very sketchy on the drive so be sure to print the directions before you go. The last 45 minutes of the drive is on a dirt road. Mario can help get you there but be prepared for the drive. it is possible to take a ferry from PUerto Seguro but either way, it is still about an hour and a half drive. The house is open air and we were there during the end of summer. It was very hot so we stayed at the beach and beach club most days. The private beach club was an easy 10 minute walk and the beach is so beautiful. The poolside tropical drinks are delicious, the service is wonderful and the food is delicious! Make sure to have the fried shrimp and the fresh seafood and vegetables! The evenings were a bit buggy (bring lots of bug spray) and warm at the house so we ate out in the community restaurants most nights. They are all only a short walk within the community on dirt roads. The community is gated and very safe. It’s the kind of place that you want to take your loved ones. We read books, played games, told stories, took walks and painted together. Take flip flops, bathing suits and lots of linen and light cotton. Many nights, we had entire restaurants to ourselves. We found the people happy to serve us, the food delicious and the atmosphere peaceful and beautiful. I highly recommend this lovely place! It’s a real treat! Take a day (or evening) and make a trip to Trancoso. It’s a quaint coastal town with colorful storefronts and yummy food...soccer in the town square and the most amazing view of the water from many of the restaurants. It’s a 45 minute drive from the house. Since we were all the way in Brazil, at the end of our stay, we traveled to the Iguazu Falls. We saw them from both Brazil and Argentina via a private guide. They are truly an amazing sight to see! We then spent four days in Buenos Aires. We would go back to all of these places, perhaps in cooler months, but we will go again...and recommend you try it! ”

December 2019Great house in great location
Large and comfortable house, with helpful and friendly staff, organized by very responsive and helpful owner. Decor is simple and not every room is bright, but the laid back feel is perfect for the location/occasion. We had a great stay! Thanks!”
