July 2020Covid getaway
Perfect for a Covid vacation with family. Lots to do inside and around, the house so contact with the outside world can be minimized. Great for children/grandchildren.where my grandson got his first fishing experience catching a blue crab off the dock. Beautiful property with painted indigos aplenty at the bird feeder. And our hosts, Joe and Nancy, made some great suggestions on things to do in the area - kayaking, golfing, restaurants. They could not have been any more accommodating!”

June 2020Grace Point Again!
We were delighted to be able to return to Grace Point this summer during these scary times of Covid-19. It offered us the isolation we sought amidst the beauty we remembered from our visit last July. As before, the owners were most hospitable and made us feel welcome, allowing use of their crab trap and fishing tackle. Mosquitoes were more numerous this year thanks to the frequent showers, but one of our favorite pastimes (when we weren't on the dock fishing--no skeeters out that far!) was watching the painted and indigo buntings from the screened porch. In the evenings, up on the top porch, we could chat and enjoy the light show of distant thunderstorms. Very relaxing! As a side note, we ordered some take out meals from the excellent McClellanville restaurants and were impressed with the level of safety. Social distancing was practiced and all staff wore masks. All in all, another enjoyable family vacation at serene Grace Point.”

July 2019Low Country Wonders
The serenity and beauty of Grace Point provided an ideal family vacation. We spent many hours on the covered dock fishing (or at least trying to...) and crabbing, and enjoyed just sitting on the screened porch to watch the painted buntings at the bird feeder by day and nature's fireworks in the distance over the ocean by night. When the teenagers needed a shopping fix, we were close enough to Mt. Pleasant and Myrtle to fulfill their wishes, but mostly we stayed closer to home with an occasional trip into McClellanville (historic and quite worth exploring) to dine or to buy fresh shrimp. A bit farther afield is Georgetown, another worthwhile town to visit, where we thoroughly enjoyed the Rice Museum and its unique gift shop. Grace Point itself is well appointed and comfortable The hospitable owners left us a tasty gift basket and invited us to make ourselves at home, even allowing us to use their crab cages, fishing tackle and those most important tricycles to wheel ourselves and our goodies the 1000 feet back and forth along the boardwalk connecting to the dock. Our son brought along kayaks and took the teenagers out, weaving through the tidal creeks in search of red fish tailing. They spied an otter swimming along with them at one point. We also got a great boat ride with Captain Don, who took us out to the barrier islands for shelling and then whirled the younger ones around on a doughnut, much to their delight. I could go on, but I will leave it to the next guests to discover for themselves what makes Grace Point so special.”
