Lovely Home!

We had a wonderful one week stay in this beautiful home! We came during a quiet time in April and enjoyed day trips to the many surrounding towns! Gordes, Roussillon, Bonnieux, Saint Remy, Lacoste, Les Beaux, Menerbes and a dozen more! It was perfect for my husband and myself. Check in and out could not have been easier!”

Peaceful farmhouse in the beautiful Luberon, comfortable and well equipped

La Grande Bergerie is a very beautifully restored old farmhouse, with all modern amenities and a very well equipped large kitchen. We were a group of six, and it was perfect for us. The local village, St Saturnin les Alpes, is lovely and not overly busy. The house is managed by a local short stay rentals professional Gregory, who looked after all our needs. ”

A Beautifully Designed Home, excellent location

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The quality of the design is very impressive , and furniture and fittings are of a high level. Numerous areas for relaxing and dining outdoors allow everyone to find their own space. The owner was helpful and responsive, offering plenty of information on the locality. And what a wonderful location it is - in the heart of the Provençal vineyards and olive groves. The nearby small town is a gem with all necessary facilities - a beautiful restaurant, an excellent butchers, a very good market etc. And not as touristy as many Provençal towns. Thank you for sharing your home - we all have fond memories of our stay. ”

Charming farmhouse in the Luberon

For those hoping to experience the true Provence as described in books like Peter Mayle's "A Year in Provence," this house in the heart of the Luberon is the perfect place. Its location near the village of Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt offers a great home base to explore many wonderful hamlets sprinkled throughout the area. This former sheep farmhouse is roomy and comfortably furnished to provide a welcomed resting place at the end of the day to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful surrounding countryside. After a day of visiting and purchasing fresh produce at other nearby village markets, we returned home most every night to cook our dinner in the well-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed relaxing and sipping wine on the terrace overlooking the peaceful yard, pool area and coutryside spread out beyond. We stayed in mid-September during the grape harvesting season, and while the lavender wasn't in bloom, it was a fabulous time to be in the region. We highly recommend a stay in this home for those hoping to experience the uniqueness of Provencial life.”

Wonderful December Stay

We had a wonderful Christmas at La Grande Bergerie. The atmosphere created by the owner was perfect for that time of the year. The village held traditional festivities and had one of the most beautiful collection of santons. The owner gave us excellent shopping recommendations. All in all, we would love to come back at La Grande Bergerie and experience it again at a different season. Thank you for having us !”

Rustic Chic ....

What a wonderful spring week we had here – the house is located on the edge of a hamlet, it’s chic and stylish without losing its rustic roots and sense of place As expected there are lots of gorgeous villages to explore, antique markets to visit and of course the stunning city of Avignon but the big revelation for us what how wonderful Marseille is so make sure you plan a trip there too. We’re looking forward to a return visit in September with the rest of the family …. ”

Perfect home base for cycling the Luberon

My husband and I enjoyed this beautiful home set among vineyards in the Provence countryside. We rented bikes from Hubert at Luberon Bikes and cycled through the many hilltop villages in the area for days. Sondrine provided great recommendations for restaurants and vineyards off-the-beaten path, all of which were fabulous. The house is well-equipped and has loads of charm and character. ”
