Best trip! Cannot wait to return!

We fell in love with Scotland! Castles, cliffs, sheep, tweed, bagpipes, whisky, cashmere, delicious food and the friendliest people. Mags and Malcolm are the most gracious hosts. They provided us with an incredible must do list and were completely available for all trip planning advice. We had a short stay so we explored as much of the Scottish Borders as possible. Around every turn was more jaw dropping beauty. (St Abbs hike past the lighthouse is a must do!) We are already planning to come back to see the northern part of this gorgeous country. Only wish Mags and Malcolm has another gorgeous home in that part of the Scotland :).”

Torsonce Estate will not disappoint

Torsonce Estate was our first Third Home experience and it far exceeded anything we could have hoped for. Mags was exceptional in every way from the first communication to our farewell. She provided perfect instructions on everything from the initial reservation acceptance to information about the house and region. Torsonce is enchanting. The Estate is elegant yet comfortable, charming and welcoming. The grounds are spectacular and magical. Stowe is a short walk through a lovely forest, Galashiels or Melrose are a short drive and Edinburgh reachable through one of the best public train experiences we have ever had. Torsonce Estate is a not to be missed gem and her hosts as kind and gracious as the Estate is stunning.”

An Idyllic Scotland Vacation

We were so grateful to have been able to stay at Torsonce Estate. The home was beautiful and located in a wonderful rural setting. The gardens at the home were just spectacular, and the home was surrounded by green hills spotted with sheep. I could have gazed at them all day. We enjoyed walking the property, playing croquet on the lawn, and venturing out to Edinburgh, St. Andrew's, and Berrick-upon-Tweed. Luxury and Location!

Our group of 8 (two families) had a fabulous week at Torsonce Mansion House. The owner was in contact communication with me since I reserved the house. She sent us all the information that we needed to organize our visit. Her housekeeper provisioned the house for us and everything was perfect when we arrived- including two bottles of champagne that the owner gifted us. The property is grand. Four comfortable bedrooms downstairs and two bathrooms. The top floor had a lovely drawing room and a fantastic dining room. The kitchen was fully equipped. The summer house and tennis court were our favorites. The location of the house is ideal to explore the Scottish Borders. Plenty of beautiful historic sites to visit and great restaurants. Edinburgh was 45 minutes away. It was a fantastic city to explore. The countryside was truly stunning. I highly recommend a visit to Howard’s Way.”

Fantastic stay

MY family and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Torsonce Mansion House. The owners and housekeeper were so very welcoming, helping with suggestions and with ideas of what to do, great hospitality, I just wish we'd had more time, there is much to do and see, the highlight of our trip was trekking with Alpacas. As we drove along the driveway up to the house, catching sight of the entrance and gardens it was clear that the owners had invested a lot of time and effort to create a beautiful home. This continued to the inside of the house with lovely attention to detail. The gardens and views were really something special, we could have quite happily spent all day in the gardens relaxing in the summer house, playing tennis on the tennis court and playing table tennis. Thanks again for a really wonderful stay.”

Simply Perfect Trip to the Scottish Borders!

We had an absolutely delightful time at Torsonce Mansion House. The hosts are so extremely gracious and had many a good recommendation for our trip. The Scottish Borders area is simply beautiful with amazing history and plenty of castles, abbeys, lovely towns, hills, valleys and more! This home also gets you close enough to do day trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh, the east coast of Scotland, to national parks and much more. You're also a quick drive to the English border from here and can easily dip down into northern England for more sites. The gardens on property are simply breathtaking and make for beautiful walks in the morning and early evenings. You'll also make friends with the property's animals, including dogs, donkeys, chickens and highland cows. Thank you so much for a lovely stay! it's certainly one we'll never forget!”

Spectacular Stay In Scotland

Mags and Malcolm could not have been kinder or more accommodating hosts. Their home and gardens are amazing and saved us trips to botanical gardens as the setting, attention to detail and artistry of the landscape are second to none. Communication with our host added to our families special week. We especially enjoyed the summer house looking over the manicured lawn and flowers. Their housekeeper was courteous and even brought eggs from the chickens in the morning. The country setting was enhanced by up to date electronics, high speed internet, and state of the art heating and appliances. All of our family raved about our stay and would love to visit again!!”
