Great Mexican Resort

For travelers to Mexico this resort is one of the best we’ve ever been to. The resort is HUGE - prepare for lots of walking or use of the frequent shuttles. The food is some of the best we’ve ever had a Mexican resort - and we are foodies so our expectations are fairly high. The food is not inexpensive but it’s very good and lots of different options for everyone. The customer service is also exceptional with quick handling of any issues. We had a few issues with our room (small flying bugs hatched our first night and the concierge moved us rooms immediately along with a broken fridge which was promptly remedied). Be prepared for a long checking in process and a forceful attempt to persuade you into a timeshare sales pitch (offer of discounts will be made if you sit thru the 3 hour ordeal of which you can decline, but they will keep asking, so be prepared). Overall a lovely well maintained and beautiful resort with amazing pools, a huge beach, lots of great food options and loads of staff willing to help and make your vacation great. We would go back bit better prepared for patience at check-in and expectations for some issues with the room that will have to be brought to management (of which they will promptly seek to remedy). ”

Grand Luxxe One Bedroom Loft at Vidanta

I could move to this unit and will try to get it each time we book at Vidanta. I loved the loft and the great amount of space for the two of us. The furnishings are five star all the way and the thirty foot windows with electric curtains are awesome. The deck is small compared to other units we stayed at and is squeezed with the small cold plunge pool that we never used but it looked nice at night with the light on. We figured out that we could turn the chairs in the unit around and with the sliding windows open we had a terrific view of the grounds and skyline without being crowded on the deck. The cleaning and turn down staff were all very friendly and brought us extra kitchen towels as we cooked in most nights. We enjoyed the pool one floor above us with a wonderful view but it is generally crowded during the day and we we went often to the Tower 1 pool as it is quieter. Tower 5 is a bit out of the way and waiting for the shuttles can be tedious at times but overall, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay.”

We have really come to love Grand Luxxe in nuevo! Staff is friendly and accommodating, grounds are beautiful, rooms are wonderful, restaurants are outstanding!! I don’t think we had an average meal, it was a wonderful trip!! The only negative is that we had some clothing disappear from our room, some new pajamas and robe my wife had brought on the trip. A little frustrating when you tip the housekeeping and staff the whole trip and someone still gets sticky fingers. Overall a great place tho!!!”

Nuevo Vallarta

A few positives and a few negatives here - On the plus side, the actual accommodations were lovely - spacious, updated, well appointed and very clean. The food throughout the resort and its MANY restaurants was also outstanding. Employees and staff were also SOOO kind and helpful. As for the drawbacks, the resort was ENORMOUS and undergoing a LOT of construction. So views were obstructed in one of the units and felt very industrial. Also likely due to the time of year (peak season) that we traveled, restaurants, pools and spa were quite crowded. Making reservations in advance was a must although they would not take any reservations more than one week ahead of time. Lastly, do NOT attend the sales presentation - many reviews said that, but I was so tempted once they offered you a very compelling (and long) offer sheet at check in. It simply isnt worth it and those are 4 hours I wish I had to relax. For me personally, I much preferred the vidanta property in Playa Del Carmen. IF i was to return to Nuevo Vallarta, I would wait until construction complete and pick an 'off-season' time.”

Disneyland meets Vegas meets Mexico

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Vidanta. Our one bedroom loft room was spacious, well-appointed, and meticulously maintained by the housekeeping staff. There is a wonderful selection of dining options for every taste. The resort is immense and shuttles are available to transport guests everywhere; that being said, there is still a hefty amount of walking required to access many parts of the resort. The pool areas are beautiful; our Grand Luxxe Tower 5 building had a roof-top pool and dining area but chaise lounges filled early and were hard to come by unless one arrived mid-morning. The sales pitch on arrival involves a great deal of arm twisting, and they do not live up to their promise of the time involved. If you decide to take the tour, ask for at least 3 keys and hefty discounts on food/beverage and the spa in return, ad be prepared to say 'No' to at least five different salespersons. We ventured into Puerto Vallarta twice which served as a nice respite from the resort, but it involves a 30-40 minute taxi ride each direction. If you go December to March make certain to embark on one of the whale watching excursions, a highlight of our trip. It took a few days to absorb the 'faux' environment which has features of Disneyland and Vegas, but once acclimated we enjoyed the experience. This is not a vacation destination for one seeking a more traditional and authentic Mexican experience. ”

Paradise

We absolutely loved our 2-week stay at Vidanta. We reserved a 1 br loft and because they didn’t have one they provided a 2 br Villa. It was huge with a very private balcony where we ate our meals and used the plunge pool daily. Others have said they were pressured to attend a sales presentation but we only received a phone call and we politely declined. No further pressure. This property provides options…beach or pool, eat-in or eat out, walk or take a shuttle. We would definitely come back or try their other properties.”

Fantastic resort. From the amazing loft and the views from our balcony to all the great restaurants - everything was first class! Golf courses were in great shape. All of the employees were very friendly and incredibly helpful. Can't count how many times the drivers went out of there way to give us a lift. ”

Cheap Construction, Disneylandlike

beautiful property, great staff, great value. The building with the one-bedroom Loft was closed so they upgraded us to a two bedroom two and a half Villa that was terrific. very large property so if you are not into walking it may not be the best place for you although there is plenty of Transportation all over as well but it's such a beautiful property if you'd like to walk,I highly recommend that option. they will pitch you to do the time share presentation breakfast and tour but it was interesting and the perks they give you, especially if you like to play golf was terrific. ”
