Vidanta is HUGE. We spent most of our time in the grand luxe side as it’s the nicest. The 3 bedrooom loft was huge and lux. Restaurants are expensive and they make going off property almost impossible. So. If you just want a nice place to stay at and to lounge by the pool. It’s great. They have a great grocery store on the property but it’s expensive. I recommend going shopping on way from airport. Do not have them delivered. It won’t work. Daily cleaners were great. Food is good too but pricey for Mexico. ”

Pack the patience and bug spray. Beware of the "welcome breakfast" sales pitch.

The 3 bedroom loft that we stayed in was beautiful, spacious and big! The staff is very kind and service is wonderful. Since no one in our group spoke Spanish, communicating was very difficult since not many staff on property spoke English. The check in and out process is very lengthy. We ate on the patio of The Burger Custom Made the first night and my son immediately starting getting bit by insects (I guess some sort of "no-seeums"). The next day he was covered in welts and horrible bug bites which he had an allergic reaction to. The next day my husband had bad stomach issues and was in bed all week with high fever. I spent most of the week trying to navigate doctors, pharmacies, medications that were all in Spanish and hardly anyone that spoke English. This was my son's graduation trip and he could not even go outside or he would get more bites, had to stay out of the pool, sun and ocean. The talked us into going to the "Welcome Breakfast" to save 10% of food and beverage and receive discounts on golf, so we went. We arrived at 9 am and sales guy actually sat and ate breakfast with us and the sales pitch started. They told us they only needed one hour with us. It turned into and 8 hour, high pressure sales presentation. They had 4 different managers come out and talk to us throughout the day, over coming every possible objection we had, adding addendum after addendum to the contract they wanted us to sign. They wore us down, we were exhausted and we ended up paying a $6,000 deposit, total price, $15k+ for 3 weeks a year and any of there resorts in a one bedroom. We went back to the room and started researching. Without going into tons of detail, it was not the "deal" we thought it was and immediately had buyers remorse. Next step, the cancellation process. It took us 2 days of calling just to get someone on the phone just to set an appointment to cancel. You have 5 days to cancel. The other thing to be aware of is the resort is huge. It is not easy to walk anywhere. You have to catch a golf cart in front of your building, wait sometimes 10-15 for a ride to drive you 5-10 to go eat, drink, shop, pool, golf, anything. The resort has a "Disneyland" feel to it. Another thing that was surprising, they did not provide any paper towels, napkins, basic spices, dishwashing detergent, etc . On a positive note, the food is good.”

Beautiful accommodations at Vidanta

The 3 bed loft at Grand Luxxe was fantastic. The pictures don't do the deck justice... It's huge! Perfect for morning yoga sessions/etc. One of the only complaints would be that you need to jump through a lot of hoops to claim most of the discounts on-site as a 3rd home member. The staff was awesome and the property has endless things to keep you entertained!”

Fun Visit at the Grand Luxxe

We always enjoy our stays at the Grand Luxxe. This was our first time in a three bedroom loft and we really enjoyed the layout (worked great for the 5 of us). We have stayed in the 4 bedroom residence before and while you get more amenities with that unit this is a close 2nd for us. This visit we played pickleball for the first time on the property and enjoyed that. We spend our days going for walks around the property & beach, swimming in the many pools, relaxing on the patio, and going to the fantastic gym. A highlight for us is to see some of the same people that work there each visit and get to know some new ones. ”

Great resort

Resort and room is fantastic. Do note that it takes about 30 mintues to get to their taxi site if you want to go out of the resort. Also, do not do their sales pitch which gets you some discounts - it takes 4-5 hours and is a horrible experience.”

My friends couldn't believe how beautiful and well kept the loft and all of Vidanta is. We visited a different restaurant every day and the food and service were all top notch. Wonderful Week in Puerto Vallarta

The Vidanta property in Nuevo Vallarta is spectacular. The unit was clean and inviting. We enjoyed the golf on the Greg Norman course several times during the week. The restaurants in the resort were fabulous as well.”

Timeshare

Unfortunately, Vidanta is but another timeshare. Promised all sorts of benefits as a ThirdHome member, but only way to actually get those benefits is to sit through a 2 hours sales presentation, and even then the 50% discounts were really 35%. Aside from sales representative Mauricio lying to us, the property and staff were fine. Note time of year of your stay as during our stay (last week of September), more than half of restaurants and property features were closed.”

Family Vacation

We had a family vacation at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta and had a fantastic time. This is defiantly a 5 star resort. We booked two rooms, a 3 bedroom loft and a 3 bedroom spa suite. The 3 bedroom loft has a full kitchen and is beautifully decorated. The 5,000 sq ft. unit seems huge and all of our family dinners were in the loft. If you need 3 bedrooms, the loft is the best choice. Getting around the resort is easy, either by foot or shuttle. We also found it fairly easy to get into Puerto Vallarta from the resort by going to the central lobby and catching a cab. It is about 30 to 40 min. to town depending on where you go. Don't miss the opportunity to get into Puerto Vallarta. The resort has everything you would want in a 5 star resort and the staff was fantastic. They took care of all of our needs immediately. I can not thank them enough. We are planning to go back for another family vacation. Mai Parker ”

Wet bed, empty promises

Property is beautiful. Views are fantastic. Food is average for the price. But our issue was the empty promises for an unfortunate room incident. A rainy night caused the ceiling inside one of the bedrooms to leak heavily at 12:30 midnight. We are not talking about drips of water from the ceiling. The light fixture over the bed, right over our son's pillow and nightstand had turned into a shower head! No joke. Thank god his laptop did not get damaged. Wet yes, but not damaged. Staff got another room for us at 3:20am. We had a 12hr fishing trip planned at 5am. Needless to say with no sleep the night before most of us were sleep on the boat majority of the day. What a waste of an expensive boat trip that turned out. The room we moved into was not an ocean view room as we initially had. After much complaints to the supervisor a day later we ended up moving to a third room which had the ocean view. For our inconveniences we were told to make an appointment with the "sales" desk in Tower 3. Showed up to the appointment and were assured that our Thirdhome keys will be deposited back to our account. I ask several times how can we be assured of this promise. Response was it is reflected in the computer. We just need to contact Thirdhome. 2 weeks has gone by and nothing. Thirdhome staff are asking for name of the staff member that had made the promise which I did not write down. Obviously my big mistake. Now I have to chase them down to see if someone will tell me who that person was. Beware of high pressured time share sales staff (which was another ordeal that I don't want to get into, as you can find many customer reviews about that if you search online) and empty promises of "sales" desk. Safe travels!”

Beautiful Three Bedroom Loft

Good Times at Vidanta

Our first time to Puerto Vallarta. We didn't know what to expect as we really enjoy Cabo and Cancun. The Vidanta resort is beautiful and the only draw back is their push to sell timeshares and a lengthy check in process. However, that is purely a choice you can make and so if you do choose to listen and accept their gifts then that was your choice. I personally found learning more about their property worthwhile even if it wasn't a good fit for me. The staff and service was top notch and you do have quite a few people that you should expect to provide gratuities to during your stay, much like a cruise ship vacation. The accommodations were great, (furnishings in our unit were a little dated), but quality furnishings and finishes throughout the resort. We loved taking trips to see the surrounding area but there is much you can do right within the resort itself. We loved the Spa, pools, entertainment, and the many restaurant choices on the property. Yes, you use golf carts to move about through the resort but that was part of the experience, and we much appreciated the drivers that got us to where we wanted to be. We chose not to buy groceries in town, and found their grocery store reasonably priced for anything we wanted to prepare for ourselves. Lastly, I do recommend that you find a bank ATM off property to withdraw Pesos and settle your bill in Pesos as that will give you the best exchange rates and you will find that you need cash for local vendors, and taxi services. A cab ride in US dollars might cost $25.00 USA but equivalent of only $18 USA if paid with Pesos. Highly recommend trips to Islas Marietas, Sayulita and San Pancho while staying in Puerto Vallarta. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. ”

Good and Bad

1. The room was quite glorious - large, all the amenities, good housekeeping, tons of space for our fam of 6. 2. The property was a nightmare to navigate the first 4 days of our stay. It is huge and you are at the mercy of their golf carts or up for a significant walk. 3. The pools, once you reached them were a mixed bag. The pools far from the luxxe hotels tended to be dirtier and required you to check in and out towels. The pools closer to the luxxe hotels were better. 4. The will try to sell you - hard. I had emailed first home prior to my stay to ensure this wouldn’t happen. It did. As much as we kept saying “no” they kept trying. It took almost two hours to check into our hotel. With three little ones this was exceedingly annoying and painful. 5. We did all the “higher end” restaurants and found the food overall fairly average. The La Petite Chef was pretty fun and I recommend it for adults - not kids. 6. Our best meal was when Quinto cooked up fish we had caught that day. The manager of Quinto was perfectly accommodating to make this happen. Bottom line: one you learn to navigate the property and get past the sales pitch and learn the good pools from the bad this place is lovely. The hassles though are significant for a first timer. ”

We had a wonderful family vacation here at this resort and in this beautiful unit. Had our 2 kids and grandkids. Lots of fun activities between golf, wave pool, lazy river, kiddy pools and of course the ocean! Highly recommend this to other 3rd home members. ”

Large beautiful loft

The website really doesn't do it justice. The room is really large with a fantastic balcony. The resort is massive too, lots of pools, restaurants, and activities. The golf course is well maintained. It is REALLY hot in the summer. The beach is not the greatest, the water is brown in places. Its about a 40 min cab ride into town ($15). The beaches there are nicer, lots of shopping, eating and excursions. The staff is very friendly, we had a few small issues, but they were resolved. Someone in our group did the time share tour, don't bother. ”

Top five favorite vacations for our family

Probably one of the top places we’ve ever stayed. The loft room is absolutely stunning and the amount of space is unbelievable. It’s not an all inclusive, so eating out every meal can be expensive. I would say comparable costs and quality to US restaurants. I greatly appreciated the grocery store on site so we could at least do our own meals sometimes. Favorites for us were the lazy River, the tacos, and the crepes! ”

The unit is overly large with a great deck and views. Beautiful lush grounds and easy location from the airport. The biggest issue is that this resort is so large, it's sometimes hard to get around. Some of the furnishings in the unit were a bit tired and the check in process was a very lengthy multi step ordeal. They were more concerned about getting us signed up for the timeshare orientation and less interested in giving us an orientation of the room and resort.”

5 Star Luxury & Gorgeous Accommodations

We spent a week with our friends at the Grand Luxxe - Tower IV. They fully enjoyed all of the pools, the Quinto restaurant, the swim up bars and relaxation. We loved the lazy river and wave pools too. Definitely go to the shows at night. They are really good and very entertaining. The concierge in Tower IV was always courteous and helpful. She scheduled massages and dinner reservations for us. I feel that her service was exceptional. In fact, all the service you receive around the massive property wont disappoint. Everyone is focused on making sure they make your vacation the best it can be. ”

Another great stay at the Grand Luxxe

This was our second visit to the Grand Luxxe in Puerto Vallarta. This time we stayed in a 3 bedroom unit, which was very nicely appointed and more than adequate for our family of 5. We had a wonderful time and every aspect of the trip was close to perfect. The property is very well kept, the landscaping is beautiful, the personnel are extremely attentive and polite. Yes, it is a very large property and you either have to walk a lot or you have to take the internal transport system to move around but that didn't bother us since we enjoy walking and never had to wait more than 5 minutes for transportation. I only feel sorry for their employees, having to senselessly wear a face-mask outdoors all the time in PV's warm and humid weather.”

Nice but still has kinks

The staff did a good job with health and sanitation protocols and we felt safe. The loft that we stayed in was new and beautiful, however, there were several issues that arose - the A/C went out TWICE during the 5 days we were there, the curtain remote did not work, and worst of all, the water out of the faucets was brown several times (totally disgusting!). We mentioned all of these issues to the front desk but they made no attempt to rectify the issues. Even if they offered a free drink to us for the inconvenience of these issues, it would have been something. But the front desk did not seem to care (hence, minus 1 star in the rating). Restaurant food was all pretty good but room service food was not at all - we wouldn’t recommend ordering food service.”

I loved this place! The resort is huge, but meticulously maintained and beautiful. The 3 bedroom Loft is outstanding. One master is on the main floor and the other 2 bedrooms and loft are upstairs. The rooms are large, and the room appointments are very nice and comfortable. The balcony is amazing and the views are unbelievable. I recommend exploring the whole resort, which is one unit behind the gate, by foot. There are great wood path trails all throughout the property with great signage for directions. I loved this place and will be back for sure!”

Great stay at Grand Luxxe

Overall, a great experience. We were upgraded to a four bedroom residence, which was amazing. The building had a rooftop pool with great views. The only downside was that access to the beach was not permitted by the authorities. The property itself is beautiful and has top-notch facilities, including a very large gym, as well as restaurants and stores. Service was very attentive and all necessary precautions related to COVID-19 were taken. I'd definitely go back. ”
