Grand Luxxe Riviera Maya is a huge resort somewhat out in the middle of nowhere. It felt like being on a cruise where everything is self contained. If you like being at a resort and not leaving for a week, this is a great place with tons of pools, shops, restaurants, activities and walking/running trails throughout the property. There was definitely a timeshare feel to the property but overall we enjoyed the trip. Likely wouldn't go back but we enjoyed it as a one off trip with our friends and family.”

October 2022Nice place but rooms are dark, they need to change the photo
The Spa suites do not have a view like the picture, all of the trees are grown up so you can't see anything and are in the jungle. First and second floors rooms are especially dark and don't get much natural light.”

October 2022Nothing but WONDERFUL Things To Say
Everything about Vidanta Riviera Maya exceeded our expectations as an active family of 6 with children ranging from 4-12. The accomodations were top rate, the pools were phenomenal, the pool on the balcony was a hit and the atmosphere the staff creates is amazing and welcoming. We spent 7 days in a 3-bedroom 3-bathroom suite. We loved the elevated jungle walkways that took us everywhere and logged plenty of steps each day. The pools were 1000 steps away and once you were there, you never needed to leave. Transportation was plentiful but honestly, it's sometimes quicker just to walk. We visited Jungala, the aqua park, and had a blast. Travelling, in October, the resort was very quiet so there were no lines and we were able to ride the slides until we had more than our fill never once waiting in line for more than 1 minute. Cirque du Soleil was an increcible experience. There is not a bad seat in the house so do not worry about which tickets you buy. We had the seats that come with appetizers and honestly, it was fun but it would have been better to eat at Nektar right outside the theater. Overall, and INCREDIBLE stay. Take the shuttle to Playa del Carmen and plan on visiting the grocery store. There is no drinkable water on property so plan on buying a lot of bottled water or having an alternative filtering method. Also, food gets expensive very quickly so having a full kitchen in the unit was a huge perk for breakfasts and easy lunches. We will definitely be going back.”

September 2022Beautiful Resort - Exceptional Service
The resort and room is exactly as described on the TH site. The 3BR unit was spacious and well maintained. The resort staff could not have been nicer and they went above and beyond to help in any way they could. All the restaurants that we tried were great and the food at Quinto was exceptional! We went to the Cirque du Soleil show and were not disappointed..amazing! The water park was actually closed the week we were there, but it looked like a good time....maybe on the next trip! A very good week spent at the resort. The only drawback regarding the unit - no dishwasher or washer/dryer. We will definitely return now that we know what to expect!”

August 2022We loved our week at Vidanta!
The resort at Vidanta is amazing! Our 3 bedroom suite in the Grand Luxxe building was so nice and very clean. The service at Vidanta was excellent. The resort is very large so there are lots of pools and restaurants to choose from. We will definitely be back!”

May 2022Excellent week - take the bad reviews with a grain of salt
I will admit that I was a bit apprehensive as this trip approached as I had read some mixed reviews (on thirdhome and on independent sites), esp as it pertains to check-in, long walks/lines for shuttles, airport shuttle and timeshare presentation. I'll address bad reviews I read first: We arrived early afternoon (many complaints about complicated check-in, getting shuttled around, having to wait hours etc) so this was the first test. They shuttle you to the Grand Luxxe lobby. Yes, you sit there for maybe 45 minutes but they are bringing you champagne while they run thru the procedures. Could have been quicker but not a big deal. Even though we were early check-in for us was not an issue, you are able to use the restaurants/bars if you need to wait. We waited maybe 15 minutes for the airport shuttle coming in, again wasn't a big deal. As for having to walk alot and/or wait in line for shuttles around the property -- I saw one line the entire week for a shuttle, usually waited no more than 3-4 min once a shuttle was called. It takes 15 minutes to walk at a reasonable pace from one side of resort to the other (yes, Grand Luxxe is on one end). You are in a jungle paradise, the raised walking paths are gorgeous, again a complete non-issue. Finally as far as timeshare pres goes, they will ask you if you want to participate at check-in. I said I'd think about it, he said he'd call during the week to check in, never got bothered again (if you actually attend the pres that could be a different matter). Now for the experience, the resort property is incredible, you feel very much tucked in the jungle. Restaurants are plentiful. Prices are not outrageous, not cheap but not crazy. The 3 BD spa suite is awesome and very nice and clean. It is huge and the bedrooms are very large (as are the bathrroms). Many pools to choose from. The staff is incredibly friendly and humble - everyone all the time all week. To me the only real negative is there isn't really a nice stretch of beach to stroll on. You have to do the Cirque de soleil show -- worth every penny. We will come back to this resort without hesitation. This partnership is a great benefit for Thirdhome members. Trying vidanta neuvo vallarta in two weeks and now without fear!”

June 2022Grand Luxxe Riviera Maya
The unit is magnificent, and the staff are very well trained. The negatives are the aggressive sales presentation, the time consuming process of leaving the resort, and the relatively high cost of dining. Also the beach is a bit rocky and full of sargassum.”

The suite is very comfortable, it’s a resort to be there and don’t go any where else it take all day to move around , if you looking for a resort with beach access don’t stay here , but everything else like amenities and entertainment it’s good for families ”

April 2022Nice resort for sure, shuttle system is a mess
We enjoyed our stay, our 2nd time and a nice facility. The shuttle system is a mess and sometimes long waits to get shuttled around. Also, personnel seemed much less friendly, maybe because all the tourists are returning post -Covid. But they really didn’t seem as helpful or friendly. We really enjoyed the dinner show at cirque du soleil on their property. Beware of the Vidanta time share salesmen, very unpleasant. Their promised one hour of your time turns out to be five hours and they throw repeated waves of Salespeople at you if one doesn’t succeed. Ruins your vacation!”

October 2021Repeat Visit to the Jungle
Another relaxing stay in the jungle. We had the 3 bedroom, and so far this has been my favorite. Lots of room to entertain & well appointed kitchen. These units have only a toaster oven, so all cooking needs to be done on the stovetop. Dining out options are great so really only made breakfast. We will be back!”

October 2021One of my favorite Thirdhome Property!
This is my third stay at the Vidanta Riviera Maya in the last year. I LOVE this property - the unit is very spacious, comfortable, and in a beautiful jungle setting. This staff from the moment you get there is very welcoming and accommodating. You feel they truly care for your wellbeing. The best part of our stay is the Grand Luxxe private pool that is available to us while staying there. The exclusive & service there spoils you. Try the grilled octopus! There are plenty of choices for restaurants for dinner. If you get a chance, see the Cirque de Soleil Joya show that is also part of resort. We would spend the day at the pool and nights at dinner, show and dancing! ”

September 2021Dreamy vacation in the jungle
This place is amazing! The concierge and service there were wonderful. The grounds were beautiful but a bit confusing the first 2 days finding our way walking back to our residence from the pools/beach/ restaurants. The food and drinks were top notch especially the Italian restaurant fir our fancy dinner our last night there. We also really enjoyed the Jungala water park right in the middle of the resort! We booked a cabana there for a day thoroughly enjoyed being spoiled rotten drifting down the lazy river, being served lunch and assorted treats and margaritas throughout the day. Would highly recommend going! We went off the resort to explore Cancun on scooters, snorkeling and scuba diving and experienced 2 underground rivers in caves. Fantastic!”

September 2021We love Vidanta!
Our family has stayed at Vidanta several times and it continues to provide a wonderful experience! Grande Luxxe Spa villa was as beautiful as ever. We enjoy our relaxing time in our private outdoor spa pool, and housekeeping is incredible. Everything you would expect from a 5 star resort, and it is easier to fly to than Hawaii! ”

September 2021Pleasant with Exceptions
For the most the stay was fine, with exceptions. First we anticipated a beautiful view as depicted online, but received a first floor unit with no view. Although off season, no change was made. Unit had AC problem which took a day to resolve (new thermostat) and it took 2-3 days to obtain hot water that worked. Again, a broken mechanism. Also, transportation around the property needs great improvement. For this they did give us a complimentary dinner, but I would rather have better amenities working. Still, we enjoyed the stay and properety.”

September 2021Exceeded expectations, by quite a bit!
Picked this up on a "keyless promotion" last year, finally made the trip, and I'm so glad we did! Property was amazing and expansive, lots of options for dining, swimming, and an almost infinite supply of nooks and crannies to just "chill" in. Staff and service were outstanding. Looking forward to checking out their other properties elsewhere!”

September 2021Resort life
This resort is massive and you must take the golf cart transportation to get around. The units are spacious and well appointed. The food is expensive but very good at the resort. The covid protocols are pretty tight but manageable. Overall, a relaxing get away.”

September 2021so many special touches
The Luxxe suites are beautiful. The set up of the resort is large, but the concierge does a wonderful job of arranging reservations, and shuttles that you feel well cared for throughout the stay. Go dine at Le Petit Chef if you have the chance ! Lots of fun. Soak up the vibes and the sun at the beach club, and lounge in the hammocks at the Luxxe pool. The staff is caring, and genuinely wants to be of service. You could feel the warmth of their smiles even behind the covid masks. This is a spectacular place. ”

August 2021Amazing property!
The property is amazing and beautiful! Grounds are very well manicured. Golf cart shuttles to all the spots on the 500 acres. The Grand Luxxe pool and the Beach Club pools were our favorites. Restaurants on property very good. The only thing to be aware of is that the photo showing the view is not what you will get. This s a 3rd floor unit and they do not give 3rd home 3rd floor. The room is exactly as the pictures and really beautiful. all 3 bathrooms are big and very nice. we will return”

July 2021Boy do I have some stories for you!
Let me first say... I admit... we are spoiled in that we have stayed in amazing resorts all over the world... so maybe my opinion is skewed... We were traveling with 2 small children... changes things a little... what adults might tolerate... not so much for the little ones! Also let me say... we spent over $5,000 in just food and drinks at this resort, so if that counts for anything... We arrived at the airport with the promise of transportation free to the hotel... we waited about 30 min in the 95 degree 90% humidity weather after finding the correct person that would get us our ride... we were taken in a large van to the resort with many other people where we were dropped in a large area with many other shuttles/ taxis/ people... they took our luggage and shuffled us onto the next waiting place... a lobby to sit on a couch for about 20 min... we were finally told we needed to board a shuttle to a different lobby to check in. We were assigned our room and given bracelets, no map, not much info at all... a drink after asking... and then told our “concierge” would explain some things and were introduced... BUT she wasn’t a concierge at all! She was a time share sales person- so after hearing her pitch and saying no thank you, we were told to go to another shuttle... this shuttle was “broken” and we were told to get off and wait for another... and then mysteriously the “broken” shuttle drove off... after waiting yet another 10 or so min we were finally taken to our building... after arriving we had to wait about 45 min for our luggage... that was just check in! We wanted to get dinner, but come to find out you need advance reservations for that... so we were sent to some general location via shuttle to try and find food. Still no map we had no idea where we were, how to get places etc. someone on the shuttle was nice enough to tell us about the app that gives tons of information! Wish someone at check in or the actual concierge at the building would have offered up this information... Sadly no one told us about the mosquito issue, so we sat outside to eat that first night just to be eaten alive by bugs! We spent the next 2 weeks healing from those bites, and of course itching from them! Wish we would have known and applied bug sprays my husband had over 30 bites when we woke up the first morning! A few days go by... not the best customer service... still trying to figure out the resort... the shuttle wait times to get anywhere we’re about 30 min and I’ll remind you of the miserable temperature and humidity and bugs! So waiting for the shuttles you are just a sitting duck! Oh and masks are required at all times! So you are a sitting/ can’t breathe/ hot/ sweaty/ bug food sitting duck! Here’s a good story... so we’re on day 4... our kids were loving taking baths... did I mention we booked a 3 bedroom spa suit with 2 tubs so our kids would enjoy the unit... it had a private “pool” (tiny 2.5’ deep maybe 6’ square “pool”. Ok.. ok... I realize we are spoiled... we usually have a full infinity pool in the units we stay at. So the units come with bubble bath (like you’d expect with any resort- like they give you shampoo and body wash etc... am I wrong!?) I mean it’s a 5 star resort right?! Well after 4 days with no new bubble bath refilled since day 1, I call the concierge to ask for more... I am then called back by said concierge “Luis” to tell me he is sorry but there is a charge to get extra bubble bath... you only get one small (maybe 1 oz) container a week! I’m sorry! Am I not staying in a “spa suite”!? I was literally shocked! What kind of resort charges for the freebies!? It’s not the amount of money really! Just the principal! I mean seriously! You just called me back to say I will need to pay for bubble bath! How is this resort considered luxury?! Ok moving onto another crazy story... so... we go to Xplor for the day with the kids, we had no idea we’d have to wear a face mask during zip lining! And better yet during water activities! For the entire day! Did I mention the temperature!? August! HOT! HUMID! After your mask is wet it is very difficult to breath through! Our poor kids! So we arrive back to the resort via taxi and have to take a shuttle from the central lobby to another location, then finally to our tower. We knew the long rides ahead... what we didn’t expect is what happened once we got into the first shuttle at the central lobby... Jesus was the driver... we ask if he can take us to grand luxxe and he responds yes please get on... so we all get on the shuttle... then walks away! Gone! 10 min go by and we’re wet, hot, breathing out of wet masks! And it’s been a long day! I finally go back into the lobby to find NO ONE! Not a person in sight! It’s about 5:30 pm. Where did the driver go?! He finally emerged from some nice air conditioned room to inform me that he is waiting for more people to get on the shuttle before he drives us to our location. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? You left a family with 2 small children in a very hot outdoor shuttle to go inside an air conditioned room to “wait for more people”?! Unbelievable! The story doesn’t end there! I literally had to demand a manager come over before the driver would take us anywhere! We would have walked, but with all the walking already my kids both had blisters on their feet and couldn’t do it! It was a 40 min walk to our building from there as their app told me. Yet another crazy experience... treated like second class citizens... so apparently there is this “preferred” membership you can pay for... we were not offered this... but if you are staying at the grand luxxe residence in a 3 bedroom spa suite you’d think you’d paid enough to be treated well... (the only better unit is a few 4 bedrooms they have in the same building in the entire giant resort with like 4 resorts in 1!) So... here we are in our building lobby with another couple... we all say we are going to the fiesta at Del Lago (mind you I think we paid over $150 USD for this dinner/show per person!)... back to the story... so it’s just our family and this other couple on the shuttle... the driver takes us to a general stop and tells us to walk the rest of the way... the other couple starts to get off with us and the driver says- no not you guys, I’ll take you directly to the entrance... so of course I say we are going to the same place as them, can you take us all to the entrance too?! (Keep in mind my kids blisters from all the walking we were not expecting)... the driver says- no they are “preferred” and you are not! Seriously! We are all going to the same location, but you kick us off to walk the rest of the way while you take them right to the door?! Again unbelievable! Last long experience I promise! So... again we are used to booking large units, multiple rooms.. and having a washer and dryer in the unit... so I didn’t want to assume, and after I got the reservation confirmation email I called the number on the signature line. I assume it was customer service. I speak to Matthew... I ask if washer and dryer are in the unit... at first he says he thinks it’s just on the floor, but then tells me he will message someone and find out for sure.... he confirms there are washer and dryers in our unit as we have a 3 bedroom. I plan accordingly and only pack half what I would have for our family expecting to do laundry in my unit in the middle of our stay at night after the kids go to bed or when it works out... well low and behold there is no washer and dryer in the unit... so I call the concierge... I explain what I was told... I am told sorry but I doubt anyone told you that! What! You are calling me a liar?! Then I am told these are my options, there is ONE washer and dryer per BUILDING at the bottom floor. I can pay to do my own laundry by purchasing a laundry card from them, or pay a service per article of clothing to do it for me! Had I been given factual information from my call about this I would not be upset, but you can see why this is ridiculous! The concierge is not trained to help solve your problems, they just tell you you are lying and these are your choices?! So what do I do?! I ask to speak to the manager! I am transferred to Beatrice. I again explain the issue and the fact that the concierge didn’t care to help me... she tells me calls are recorded and she will find the call and get back to me... I tell her the exact day the call was made and who I spoke to and what number I called. For the next 7 days of our stay I never hear back from Beatrice (the concierge supervisor). No one cares about you or your issues or how to make your vacation a better experience! Sorry you were lied to! So... I take 3 hours out of my vacation to do my own laundry, bc remember it’s ONE washer and dryer per building! I’m lucky no one else was doing laundry at the same time as me! Just a few general concerns... Carla the girl at the shuttle stop by the main pool... a very popular shuttle stop... she lines you up by where you are going, but then picks and chooses when a shuttle arrives who it will take... it’s craziness! We again had very long waits there, again being a sitting duck for the mosquitos! We wanted to go to the Cirque De Solei show on property, but we have kids that won’t eat any of the fancy food, so we asked how we could pay for the full dinner and show for us, and just the show for the kids, mind you the full experience is about $300 USD per person I want to say, and comes with a full bar. Kids don’t drink.. you’d think they would accommodate, nope! They would not allow the kids to just watch the show while we did the full experience. I spoke to multiple managers and our concierge, nobody cared, they said that sorry your kids don’t drink alcohol and don’t want steak and lobster but oh well, they have to pay the same price either way. Their loss! We never went! If you stay at the grand luxxe or grand bliss you get the privilege of using the beach club pool area. They open at 10am... we got in line at 10am... it was about 40 people long... I went to the front to see what lounge chairs or cabanas had already been given out... all the chairs by any pool were already assigned out by the time they opened! There was no use standing in line... they collect a waiting list, but have no real way of finding you to let you know if a spot opened up, just if they “find you”... they can’t call you, there are no pagers... so good luck with that, this is a common and daily occurrence, so kiss your hopes goodbye of getting a chair by your exclusive pool. Speaking of the pools.... they were all so hot, except the beach club- hence wanting to go there! The grand luxxe pool is actually heated! It says so on the sign when you get there! Its August! Heated! They were in the low to mid 90’s, which was uncomfortably hot! When it’s that hot and humid out, you don’t want to jump into a heated pool! The towels are stiff as sand paper! Like they have been washed a million times and never replaced?! Again makes you wonder the quality of the resort with that issue... so those bug bites that are bleeding and you are just trying not to touch, ya... that sand paper towel over them after a shower is not pleasant. Check out is 10am! Never had such an early check out required! After asking for a late check out we were given an extra hour! I said to our concierge- seriously! After all you know we’ve been through! That’s the best you can do?! We planned to get up early, have breakfast at the steakhouse, go to the pool for a couple hours, then shower off in our room before leaving, we had a late flight out... he finally agreed to speak with his supervisor... calls me back at the restaurant we were having dinner at the night before departure to inform me, yep! Nope! All I can do is an hour extra! I mean they had a chance to try and and at least end our experience on a good note! Hence this review! I couldn’t take it anymore! Lastly... the ATM... we brought cash, but not that much! We liked to tip our servers in cash so they actually got the tip they earned. We had to take Taxi’s everywhere bc of the location of the resort... so $1,000 USD or so cash only gets you so far... so it’s departure day and we need pay for our taxi ride to the airport, so we are told to go to the main grand luxxe lobby by our concierge... we asked again when we got to the first stop and we’re told that lobby was the only place. We get to the ATM... it doesn’t work! The guy tells us... sorry it doesn’t work... do they care?! Nope! How do we pay to get to the airport?! Oh well! It’s on us! The taxi’s don’t take credit cards! Oh I forgot... the kids club! We had read about in on their website and hoped for it... but after asking about it from day one our concierge Louis told us it was supervised only! Come to find out on our final days of the stay, from some other people... you can actually drop your kids off at the fun kids club for the day/ or just for an activity... and do not need to stay with them... would have really helped make our vacation a batter experience! Our kids loved it for the one day of our 14 day stay we knew about it! I understand covid excuses, but it was never a lack of staff issue, it was a customer service issue, it was always an issue of them caring or not! I’m telling you... they do not care! No one there does! I will NEVER be back! I will say the service at the restaurants was great for the most part! We tipped some servers as much as 40% of our bill just because they cared so much! It was nice to have someone care! We also liked to give $2 bills out to our favorite servers as good luck along with their tip! Rodrigo was an awesome server at the Italian restaurant... he cared, and made our last night meal amazing! Some advice if you plan to still stay here... download the app! Search Vidanta. Make reservations for dinner/ shows on the app if you can! The steakhouse is the ONLY place you can eat breakfast inside an air conditioned space! It’s a buffet... it’s cheaper than the Del Lago buffet, less people, and much better service! You need to be staying at the grand luxxe or grand bliss to go here. Find a way to get a chair by the pool at the beach club (also must be staying at the grand luxxe or grand bliss) .... even if it means the wait list... if you see a spot open up go and tell them you are on the wait list and want that spot. Gong and the Italian restaurant Tramonto are indoors and great! Havana moon is hot (no ac) but worth it for the live music nights. Also it has outdoor beach front seating... you can book a cabana one day in advance at the main palapa for basically free (must spend like $35 usd in food and drinks while there)... these are the things I learned that no one tells you... and remember, we had a concierge and we ask a lot of questions. Usually concierges are great, it’s their job to make you feel welcome, at home, show you the ins and outs of the resorts and usually go above and beyond. This was not the case here, our concierge was nice, but really didn’t do anything for us. ”

April 2021Fun place! Explore early and learn the full layout.
Most of the beach areas and pools are very walkable from each other once you learn your way around. Pretty great week!!”

July 2021Grande Luxxe Vidanta Riviera Maya
Lovely three-bedroom, roomy and clean, albeit much, much darker than in photos (we were in a ground level unit). Enjoyed the resort, no problem waiting for the resort trams (signage would be helpful about what trams to take), enjoyed walking on the raised walkways. Lots of animal life (unfortunately this includes a lot of biting insects). Concierge service not up to snuff (never responded to pre-arrival email, highly inconsistent information, you ask three people and get three different answers). Beach Club and private Grande Luxxe pools very nice. Able to keep timeshare pitches to a minimum if you "just say no." GREAT staff, very friendly and willing to assist. Expect lengthy, multi-part check-in, could be much easier and more efficient. No dishwasher in kitchen; no non-stick cookware. ”

June 2021Horrible Weather, But Thankful for 5-Star Accommodations
Our trip to Vidanta and the Riviera Maya was overshadowed by a tropical depression visiting during the same week. Thankfully this was not our first time to Vidanta, nor our first time to the Riviera Maya. There were some definite challenges to weathering a full week of rain at this resort (e.g., on-resort transportation through the jungle, soggy food at a couple of dining venues, etc...) during a tropical depression, but we were so thankful to have very spacious, high-end accommodations to hang out in while we rode out the bad weather. We enjoyed our time, the incredible service, and the one day of sun! :) If you are staying in the Luxxe accommodations of Vidanta, take note that you have access to a new VIP beach club area that has been built in the last couple of years, but is on the other side of the resort and easy to miss. We will be back...during dry season! :) ”

June 2021property vs service
The property itself was stunning, but the service wasn't good at all. The resort is HUGE. Be prepared to take 10 minute golf cart rides everywhere. Often times the golf carts stop at a transfer stations and you need to wait another 5 min for a new golf cart for a 15-20 min ride across a resort. We had an issue with a food order and they asked us to provide them with evidence.... seriously? When we checked in they told us we should have paid more keys... not exactly classy. It was difficult to book restaurants on property and they even were "too busy" for room service one evening i think they wanted us to diet?. If you go book all your dinners in advance. we wont return.”

May 2021Mexican Disneyland
We enjoyed this property and everything it had to offer. For our situation and what we were looking for, it was fantastic. We had three families total travel with us and we were able to reserve three separate large units that were all fairly close to each other. This allowed us all time to ourselves but also made it really easy to meet up each day for time at the pools or going to restaurants. We have two young children so staying on resort was ok with us. We also enjoy nature and walking a good bit so the expansive grounds, walking trails, and animals everywhere were a huge plus for us. If you are looking to go off resort, are mobility challenged or just don't enjoy walking and don't feel like waiting for trams your entire week, then this place is probably not for you. However, we found just about everything on the resort to be 5-15 minutes walk and hardly ever waited around for the trams. We got most of our weekly exercise in just walking around the resort and enjoying the beauty of everything there. This is a great family resort, super safe and secure, and the employees were fantasitic the whole time. We would definitely go back!”

May 2021Beautiful resort but limitations
Very large resort with wooden walkways throughout which are beautiful but also can be dangerous for elderly folks. They do have golf cart trams to take you around but we experienced limited staff and wait times of up to 30 minutes just to get to other parts of the resort. It did feel like Disney in the sense that it is so large and spread out and did not feel easy to go anywhere. The pools are pretty but the beach is very rocky and you must have water shoes to go in to avoid cutting your feet on the rock and sea urchins. The Grande Luxxe residence building is beautiful but again about a 15 minute walk to the pools or beach. The biggest disappointment I have is the prepay and stay promo. If you put a credit on the room you get some extra money from the resort. Beware of this, they keep a running total each day and we left thinking we still have some money on the room. Apparently there are charges they show deducted on the running total, making you think you've spent all your prepay money to realize when we got home they charged our credit card for $500 plus dollars. I am having a hard time getting in touch with someone so they can explain to me and show me where this extra charge is coming from. At checkout we did not have that balance??? Good luck making your decision, I am usually easy to please and enjoy these vacations but this one unfortunately was not as pleasant. I will end on that the resort is beautiful and we did find most of the staff extremely nice but they are running on a scarce staff due to COVID so the service was not as expected. ”

May 2021Vidanta is amazing!
Vidanta Riviera Maya is a very special place. The staff throughout the massive resort facility are incredible. Everyone is so nice and they make a huge effort to allow you to have a relaxing, enjoyable experience. The Beach Club pool is awesome! We saw Joya, a sweet Cirque show. Went to the waterpark twice while I stayed there. And the room is probably the nicest I've ever stayed in at a resort. There is no question I will be booking this place again. Thanks VIdanta, Aaron Ellison”

May 2021Exceptional all around
It would be great to be a weather person there, forecast was for 86F every single day! I am a member at Vidanta so I knew exactly what to expect. Our 3-bedroom suite was immaculately clean on arrival and restored to that condition every day. The concierge in our building was very friendly and helpful for anything we asked of him. We ate at three different restaurants for dinner, Nektar, La Cantina (in Salum), and the dinner theater at Cirque du Soleil. All were outstanding, service was fantastic. We also had lunch at Burger Custom Made which was also great. They put every kind of meat and even non-meat items on various buns and they are all worth trying. We played golf twice, staff at the course could not have been more helpful. The rate was very reasonable and it wasn't that busy. Don't let the 18-hole par 3 fool you, it is plenty challenging for even the best golfers and very playable from the front tees for others. All of the staff, from the maids to the concierge are super friendly and polite. Their Covid precautions are over the top with everything being cleaned every 30 minutes. Not all of the restaurants are open but they tell you that at check in so you know where to go. Regardless of where you end up you won't have a bad meal. The Spa and Health Club have limited attendance and reservations are required to make sure everyone doesn't show up at the same time. Our group went early every morning and never had a problem. If you get time, take the short ride north to Puerto Morales to walk around or to have a meal. It's a very quaint little town, kind of like Playa del Carmen must have been 25 years ago. We had two great dinners up there and brunch on our way to the airport.”

May 2021Large resort experience
Despite what you see in the promotional material, there are no ocean views at this resort. The employees are what makes this place special. Be prepared to take trams everywhere. Felt like we were herded cattle. The Cirque du Soleil show was exceptional. ”

April 2021Vidanta riviera maya resort
While the facilities are gorgeous and the service excellent, it has a Disney feel with trams to take you around the huge property. There are many beautiful pools but the beach is small and has a rocky water access that requires shoes. They also aggressively pitch an ownership option and won’t take no for an answer, calling early each morning to book and remind you. I said no so they turned off the automatic wifi punitively. (There was still WiFi just required daily log in.) we enjoyed the stay regardless and staff is lovely. The spa was great!”

January 2021Excellent vacation!
This was our second time in 2 months. Love the property, the staff, and the service. The staff provides such heart felt service & does excellent job regards to cleaning/sanitizing. I felt totally comfortable with my stay there. ”
