September 2021Chesapeake Bay Heaven
This is the second time my husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Idlewild. It never disappoints! Brad, the owner and Tim, the caretaker, are available for any questions about the property or the surrounding area. Always making sure the the property is satisfactory and our stay is pleasant. From the spacious historic home to the beautiful scenery you can't go wrong with this property. Choose from the brick patio with the majestic oaks, or the dock with the fabulous water views, or the pool with a water view. All were our happy place..... Thank you for another wonderful, relaxing trip!”

September 2020Perfect getaway
Perfection in a box. Nothing overlooked or forgotten where comfort and courtesy are concerned. Beautifully renovated historic home in an exquisite setting. Extremely accommodating and detail oriented hosts who make travelling to and staying in someone else’s home seem like a piece of cake. Lots of amenities/activities and fun things to do in the area for all. Highly recommended!”

June 2020A Soothing Venue
My wife Nancy and I cannot recommend Idlewild highly enough. Our stay was during the complicated Covid-19 lockdown period, and as a result many of the restaurants were forced to realign their seating arrangements and put social distancing guidelines in place. Regardless, St. Michael’s was charming and the perfect sized town to explore and get to know. We had our son, daughter-in-law and infant grandson join us and the lovely home worked beautifully. The den, living room and porch spaces are elegant with just the right touch of informality. The kitchen was spacious with great working areas. Each outdoor space is a gorgeous setting, including the terrace dining, the pool and the dock. The grounds are stunning and there are several magnificent trees on the property, including the most spectacular magnolia that we have ever seen. Brad and Bekah Palmer communicated conscientiously with us prior to and during our visit and they took the initiative to give the property a thorough cleansing before our arrival to ensure that it was totally devoid of Coronavirus concerns. They were terrific hosts and their “can do” attitude was evident in every element of Idlewild’s operation. We couldn’t recommend their home more highly.”
