Atitlan Villa

Come enjoy the peace and serenity of Lake Atitlan and stay in this lovely villa, located in a private cove on a hard surface road (very important), just 1/4 mile from the quaint village of San Antonio Palopo. This is a lovely and very secluded home with no "neighbors" on either side and you'll have a private lakefront acre to yourselves! To the east is the soft flowing Parankaya River and to the west are undeveloped grounds, also part of the villa property.

Villa Atitlan is located in a beautiful area of the lake locally known as "mansion row". This three bedroom, three bath villa with 100 meters/335 feet of private lake frontage was designed by demanding North American owners and local architectural and engineering firms. The design criteria required that the villa not compete with its setting or the view, while providing all the modern conveniences with casual, but understated elegance. Completed with German windows and exterior doors, custom tile, custom interior doors, and numerous high-end fixtures, you'll find a great place to call home during your stay.

The three walls of glass in the Great Room provide unrivaled panoramic views of the lake, volcanoes and Parankaya river. The living area is furnished with a leather sectional sofa, making for a soft spot to enjoy the incredible sights and sounds of the lake. The fully equipped kitchen, also with great views, is furnished with cherry cabinets, quartz counter tops and stainless steel appliances, including a wine cooler. The dining area has seating for four with additional dining for four available at the kitchen bar area.

The expansive master suite has wonderful views of the lake, volcanoes and river as well. It is furnished with a king size bed with a memory foam mattress. There are two seating areas to enjoy a glass of wine or morning cup of coffee. This room has a large master bath with double vanity.

The upper guest suite also has views of the lake, volcanoes and river and is furnished with a queen size bed and bath.

The lower guest suite with private bath offers the same lovely views as the upper suite also has a queen size bed and private entrance.

The terraced gardens are maintained by a full time staff that live on property. There are also several areas to enjoy dining or sunbathing with stone steps leading to the lake.

Most guests opt not to rent vehicles, but there is a four car garage should you need to park. Private transportation can easily be arranged through the property manager, which is advised.

Lake Atitlan enjoys some of the most perfect year-round weather in the world. The temperatures are in the 70's and 80's during the day and the 50's and 60's in the evening, making for a delightful getaway, no matter where you're coming from!

Both the caretaker Victoriano and the property manager Tomas will be available to tend to your every need. Tomas can arrange for scenic boat tours, hiking and other interesting excursions and activities.

Lake Atitlan is likely a place you haven't heard of, but is truly a gem on this globe. The Guatemalan people that call this lake home have a rich history and are genuinely kind. The lake itself is one of the most beautiful places on earth and there's so much to do from shopping and dining on very underrated Guatemalan cuisine, to water sports on the lake, to world-class volcano hiking and much more. One of the most rewarding activities is to simply jump aboard one of the many boat taxis that constantly make their way around the lake to check out each of the villages, all known for different arts and crafts, cuisine, etc.
