March 2024Beautiful Property but drawbacks
Vidanta is a beautiful property, but there are some issues. First, check the charges for your room. They had added a few “rent” charges of $100 dollars but removed them after I asked about them. There was construction going on next to the tower I was in. They were dropping construction debris down a metal shoot from several floors high for several days during the trip which was really disruptive because we could not use the patio during that time and it made it difficult to work inside. They said they couldn’t move us to another tower, but after a few days they had a room on the other side of the building. However we had to checkout of the current room by 11 and wait until after 5 pm for the new room, again impossible when we are trying to work during the day. Construction was not disclosed in the listing. I reserved this trip through a keyless sale and I didn’t have to pay the additional Vidanta fee so cost-wise it was a decent value despite the inconveniences. But if I had used keys and been required to pay the 3rd home fee and vidanta fees I would have been really upset.”

March 2024Great Week
Fantastic resort - beautiful pools, great restaurants. Shuttles were never more than a 3 minute wait. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Airport shuttle to the hotel and taxi back to the airport were easy to arrange and efficient. It would be nice to be able to see my bill at checkout in English and dollars.”

Beautiful grounds. Lovely greenery everywhere. Rooms large and fully equip will all you need. Great views from the room. Friendly, helpful people for all your needs. Food great at the restaurants with every kind of food you would like. Great fire show and also the show at the Mexican restaurant.”

February 2024Not for Royals!
All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay at Grand Luxxe Royal 2 Bedroom at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta, one thing which was lacking was outdoor furnishings for a unit which accommodates 6. There were only 2 modest chairs and a small coffee table so the other 4 quests just have to rough-it on the floor! Not for Royals!”

February 2024Great Property but too much Sales Pressure
Fantastic property, accommodations, restaurants, pools and venues. As a Third Home Member, you will not get the preferred units, and there will be a lot of pressure to attend the sales pitch… they tell you it will only take an hour, but they will keep you there for 5 hours… ”

February 2024Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta was Fantastic
We have been traveling to Mexico and the Caribbean for over 25 years and we found Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta to be the finest, most complete resort we have ever stayed at. Lots to do, including: long, walkable/swimmable beaches, 3 golf courses, over 40 restaurants/snack bars, couldn't count all the pools, lushly landscaped walkways throughout the property, efficient shuttle system and a very friendly and helpful staff.....not to mention the partially opened theme park that is growing every day and that you reach by a cool aerial gondola ride!”

January 2024Vidantas Disney resort
If you like waiting for shuttles & a Disneyworld type of resort this place is it. Has great amenities pools restaurants spas and entertainment, however, feelings of being trapped in such a large resort is a common commentary of guests. Played all 3 golf courses onsite , ElTigre next door & both tracks at Vista Vallarta they are plane Jane flat. Next time we will skip this resort and endulge in the 5 Star golf & beach resort 20 miles up the road in Punta Mita at the 4 seasons/St. Regis much more appealing.”

January 2024Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta - Oliveira Family
This trip was very good, one of the best I've ever done with my family, Vidanta is a special, magical place, it really feels like we're in a closed city, for special people, the safety, the quality of things, the luxury, the tranquility you don't need to carry anything, simply everything you need is at your fingertips.”

Beautiful facility but very difficult to get around while on property. Very large and it takes quite a while to get somewhere. The staff are great however the process to check into the hotel is quite the process. Far from town. ”

November 2023Grand Luxxe Royal 2-bed has a kitchen, things at Vidanta have changed...
We were a group of 4 men golfers, the check-in was late in the evening, and only one concierge was available, so it took some time to get this accomplished. First surprise was telling me they would hold $2.2K USD on my credit card, which I balked at - after 30 minutes of negotiation, they agreed to $600., and informed me that when the charges were approaching this amount, the account would be shut off for further charges...so I checked the bill every other day, and in fact, they didn't turn off any further charges, but put another $500 hold on my card on day 3 of our stay. Second topic of irritation was the resort fee, which I understood completely (from previous stays in the residence building). The guy told me it would be applied immediately (it was), and on the third day, it was reversed to allow more charges to the bill - of course, they want the money. Aside from that, the building 4 Grand Luxxe is elegant, the bottom-floor 2-bedroom "Royal" was nice & had a full kitchen (no oven), which nobody could answer prior to arrival...a little frustration, but worked out. The "BON" theme park, which I paid for a membership in over 6 years ago, coincidentally had a "soft opening" during our stay, so the timeshare hostess told us to go get the tickets for $900 MXN/ea., at the level 2 in the Mercado - and when we get there, they tell us that we're going to get a credit back for food & beverages in the amount of $3600...all of it was BS! After a heated discussion with the manager of the ticket sales, we were issued a partial refund of this amount on the final bill. All said, the place has a lot of things going for it, but the maintenance has slipped vs. previous years, the maid service was nothing close to 5-star rating, and the overall impression of the Santuario entertainment was repetitive & nothing as it was in past years. I still think they have many amazing things to see & experience, the new food pavillion & fountain show in "The Crater" with fire is an amazing experience, but waiting another 3 years to return is fine with me...still a solid 4-star experience!”

November 2023Amazing Resort and units
We stayed at Grand Luxxe Vidanta Nueva Vallarta over Thanksgiving. We had three units for a party of ten and the accommodations were amazing. The room layouts, space, and views were excellent. We were in tower six, which is the newest building but very far from the beach and central activities. The only complaint about the rooms are the stove tops. They don't work well. We cook a lot when we travel, and that was not easy. We did prepay for food and beverage credits and that worked out extremely well. Highly suggest it. The great thing about tower six is the roof top pool, bar and restaurant. That setting alone would have made for an amazing trip, and I am pretty sure my 74 year old mother spent most of her time there. The resort is massive and it takes a few days to really learn the transportation system. But once you day there are so many amenities to explore including beaches, shopping, pools, restaurants all before you leave the resort. If you do leave the resort be prepared for nasty traffic. All in all, an amazing trip. If it was a bit closer to us (we live on the east coast) we would absolutely go back. Thank you Third Home and Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. ”

October 2023Acceptable
The facility design of tower six is currently the newest and best of the Grand Luxxe at Nuevo. Fancier, modern, and much better for storage. The fact that the AC went down for two brief stints and hot water did the same was not fun. The check out was too slow and long waits in line with the staff working too slow. The joy squad was practically not present most of the week. It is a nice property that is getting worn with staff that are acceptable, yet not nearly as friendly or skilled as they were in the past. ”

November 2021Tough circumstances
The building six, the Royal suite, was not available So we had to fight for the next best thing, building five. After many hours of negotiations and having no access to our bags, we finally won and receive a building 5 room, which should cost a little less yet way better than the building 4 they kept pushing us towards. Then the building five unit was without AC most of the week with laborers in and out of our room all week for numerous hours trying to fix the AC system that was leaking. We found ways to enjoy the stay by celebrating our friends that were with us and buying jewelry at various places on the property.”

March 2023Very Nice but not much to do for teens
Very nice, very large property. It's kind of time consuming to get on/off the resort due to it's size so if you like to stay on property for your trip it's perfect. All of the pools are very quiet and relaxed (no balls, jumping or floats) which is great if that's what you like but if you have teens they're going to get bored quickly. Rooms are perfect, food is good and prices are reasonable. ”

April 2023Need to Disclose Tons of Construction and Poor View
Vidanta and/or Third Home should disclose to Third Home Members that the offered property is in Building 6 (furthest from the ocean and from all amenities) and has a view of substantial construction and/or a very green unattractive pond--plus construction, and no or very limited ocean view. It is not right to withhold this critical information. After > 2+ hrs. of checking in, we were very disappointed to see our designated room. We requested another but told there were none, meaning none in this particular building and of this size. After several more hours of discussion with check-in personnel and then 2 different supervisors, we were allowed to upgrade our room for $500 (in additional to the $300 fee for not being a Vidanta member). **This process consumed ~5 hrs. of our time and put a damper on the beginning of our vacation but we were happy with our room. However, the next day, the air-conditioning was out for 2 buildings for 2 full days, and then we continued to have periodic outages in one of our bedrooms throughout the week. Maintenance had to come out 3 times to fix and refix. Plus, we had to ask them to fix a broken electrical switch so we could turn on/off patio lights, and work on 2 of our lamps (one fixed / one replaced). At checkout, I requested a credit for the issues experienced and had to fill out a report to substantiate, then return to the desk 1.5 hrs. later to visit with management who granted a small but appreciated credit. Besides the room selection issue and the maintenance issues, we found the property and its amenities enjoyable but a little pricey. Do I recommend Vidanta as a Third Home offering? Probably not, unless you have a high tolerance for what we experienced. ”

January 2022GREAT ACCOMODATIONS, BUT LOTS OF PRESSURE TO TIMESHARE TOUR
From check-in and for 4 days in a row we were pressured to do a timeshare tour. Believe me, you do NOT want to do a tour at a Mayan/Vidanta property. 4 hours of extreme high pressure. The accommodations were excellent and the grounds are breath taking. Pools are Not Heated. ”

November 2021Very pushy Salespeople
The resort was huge! I was shocked by how large it was, that being said - the accommodations were very nice, the food very good. The beach not nice at all/water is murky/dirty because of all the construction on the newest part of the resort. In fact our room looked out to the construction but we just closed the curtains - the room was beautiful! BUT - the salespeople trying to sell a membership were relentless!! They kept us in the arrival area forever hounding us to set up a breakfast with them which we finally agreed to because it had been a long day and we were starving! The was a mistake and a stressful ordeal where we said NO about a hundred times, trying to leave. THEN they charged us $2000 on our credit card anyways (Their final offer) which we had not signed (Or they sneaked a signature when we signed to get our deposit back that they took if we didn't show up to the breakfast..) and I had to fight them with my credit card company to get that money back. Took a couple months of back and forth but finally they refunded it! Just say NO when you arrive and walk away!!!! But we won't be back, don't want to go through that on the first day of a vacation!!”

March 2023Huge property
The suites are very nice. Extremely large and comfortable. The pools offer a lot for both families or couples, just know that the family pools are pretty far and you need to take 1 to 2 shuttles and still walk a bit to get to them. That being said we loved the walk- it was beautiful and great exercise. The food was good for the most part and there are a lot of options to choose from. Our favorite part was the "joy squad" which was a group at every pool that organized activities and got the kids and adults involved. They did a fantastic job. Keep in mind that this is a timeshare type property so they will try to get you to sit through a presentation. My husband Could come last minute and I brought just my kids alone and I felt very very safe the entire time. ”

March 2023Amazing grounds and limitless possibilities
This resort has amazing grounds. Each building has its own interior and exterior design with pools and incredible landscaping. Every effort was made to entertain the guests on a nightly basis. This is not to mention the new adult park they are building currently. A must see is the Crater show. Prominent entertainers play there weekly. There are three very nice golf courses on premises. One can also relax on the beach with available food trailers nearby. This resort is expansive so you will be taken by golf carts to various destinations. Or you can walk on these Wonderfull wooden paths that run throughout the resort with piped in music and educational plant names and descriptions. There is a fairly large grocery, deli, bakery and even an amazing apparel stores for your shopping needs. How about a gondola that runs thru the entire resort! Its a pretty amazing resort overall. ”

December 2022Nice but not well laid out - Building Six
Breakfast buffets we’re both fabulous. The suite is modern looking and showy. Having mini bar fridges didn’t leave a lot of space and awkward. The whole fridge pulled out or tipped when you opened the door. One didn’t close well. The kitchen area is very small. When people at table you couldn’t get by to get another coffee with going around the couch. Kitchen chairs were the most comfortable chairs in suite. Only 2 chairs on outdoor space (shaded) so we used the kitchen chairs out there. I liked that we could open the entire front and half the side wall. We opened them every morning. The sliding doors to bathroom and closet didn’t work. They were damaged when we arrived so I let the desk know and they came and hammered the laminate back on. The repair guy told us not to use them as it would take more to repair them. They were floor to high ceiling pocket doors that were off track or broken. No biggy as we had them open anyways and wouldn’t have closed them. I just didn’t want to be charged for damage. Our maid must have been new. Very hit and miss. She’d take towels and not replace them. She was good to give us hand towels and face cloths when we asked. Beds always made up but turn down was hit and miss (not that it mattered, just different than previous stays in other Luxxe buildings). The resort was in fabulous shape and we enjoyed the shows and entertainment. Shuttles were great for getting us around. Easy to overlook the minor maintenance items when you look at the full package of beauty, entertainment, and transportation.”
John C.
October 2022Nice place and people
The building we booked was closed and we were switched to another building. That facility was fine, yet our room was without AC for 4 out of the 7 days. Vidanta did provide us with a small credit at checkout and the maintanence people worked day and night to get the AC unit working. The process was annoying.”

April 2022Aggressive time share sales pitch
This resort is HUGE and rooms are well designed, but the initial experience is just horrible. They give you an aggressive time share sales pitch as you arrive and try to sign you up for their informational event. When we said we were ThirdHome members and wanted to pass, we were told we would get a better room with an ocean view if we signed up, or wait till 5 PM and get a room which faced the other side of the resort facing construction. We are just stunned to hear that and left a really bad taste. Our room also had issues with electricity where lights kept going off intermittently. They tried to fix bout couldn't do it so after two days we were moved to a different room. In any event, we tried to make the best out of the situation. The resort itself is very nice though far away from the city. Staff are courteous. The spa is fabulous. I wouldn't stay here if you want peace and quiet and want a top notch experience and want to explore the city. If you want to sit by the pool everyday and never leave the building, this is perfect for you.”

February 2022Disappointed…
This was my 5th stay at VIDANTA and this by far was the worst. The unit got was not what i reserved, the unit I got was uninhabitable due to a water leak which had obvious signs and smells of mold, and still they would not move us. The service we received from the concierge and the housekeeping staff was extremely insufficient and inconsistent. The bests parts of our stay were when we were at our families other unit, when we were at the pools and restaurants. Literally, everything that happened inside the walls of our unit was a disaster and we did not feel the desert staff provided adequate concessions and solutions to our problems. Nor did they provide adequate or a sufficient level of service you would expect from this caliber of a resort. It was completely out of character from our previous stays. ”

February 2022Vidanta Neuvo Nayarit - Sales Presentation Beware!
While, I loved the property, we had some hiccups. It took more than 3 hours (after check-in time) to receive a room! The sales staff is aggressive and rude, ran us around the property - after we said NO. I recognized myself as a 3Home member and they said - SO! I would visit again, however, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take the Sales presentation as a 90m agreement turns into 4 hours...literally. ”

January 2022Cheap Construction, Disneylandlike

November 2021Worst Visit Ever
We’ve stayed at Vidanta resorts for many years. This was by far the worst visit we’ve ever had. We have been in many 2 br units in the past and they have all been almost identical with similar amenities and locations. This time we were in tower 6 which is a long ways from everything. The description said full kitchen but we had one small counter, two small burners, and one small sink. There were dishes and pots and pans but no small appliances. Instead of a full size fridge which we’ve always had, we had two small dorm-style fridges. The worst part was the construction right by us. I know Vidanta is constantly expanding and to expect some amount of noise but the room they put us in was literally right next to the new tower going up. Workers could see into our room, and there was constant noise and activity. It was also a very low floor so we had a view of an empty pond and the maintenance buildings. I would have expected this from an RCI or Interval exchange, but not from Third Home. We resigned ourselves to accept the challenges of the unit for our week there, but we quickly discovered we had no hot water. We asked for a different room at that point and got the standard “we’ll check and get back to you” which of course we never heard back. We asked again about the hot water and they eventually sent someone to fix it. We had turn-down service the first night and then not again for several nights until we asked about it. Not at all what we have come to expect with Third Home and Vidanta. I hope this isn’t the standard of visits we can expect in the future. ”
Matt S.
November 2021Grand Luxxe was a disappointment
Check-in took forever. 1st room (at 5pm) overlooked active construction site, smelled of sewer gas, no towels or bottled water. 2nd room (at 10:30 at night - 5 hours after complaining) had same crappy view and no hot water. Downsized to a studio vs 2 bedroom on night 4 with better view and hot water. Exchange visitors were treated like 2nd class citizens vs Vidanta members.”

April 2021Excellent resort.
All together my family has visited Vidanta 11 weeks in the past 6 months. What a great way to stay safe from Covid with lots of outdoor facilities, pools, beach, miles of jungle paths and many outdoor restaurants. The rooms are top of the line, the food is superb all the way from tacos at The Mercado to fine dining at Quinto and Puerto Manjar. Best of all, the people. Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend our fellow Third Home members to take advantage of this unique opportunity to vacation in a high end resort for a minimal price and best of all, No Keys. Word of caution. This is a time share operation. Be clear at your check in your wish to attend their presentation or not. We elected not since we own a beach home nearby, and they never again bothered us. Very professional. ”

February 2021Exquisite property
Exquisite property. The suites were beautifully appointed with high-end amenities, and a personal plunge pool on the deck, which felt great after a run or a workout. Please note that lower floors do not have a beach view. If I were to return, I would request 3rd floor or higher. There is an amazing system of wooden walking bridges all throughout the property, which are a great way to get around. The restaurants were all great. I'm not much of a golfer, but we had fun at the par-3 course. The entire property is luxuriously landscaped. We felt safe at all times, as the resort took extraordinary COVID precautions. Our suite was immaculate. If you go, DO NOT agree to the timeshare sales presentation. They said it would be an hour, and it lasted all morning with a very high-pressure sales pitch. Not the best way to spend the first morning of vacation.”

January 2021Perfect Vacation!
We booked The Grand Luxxe as a last minute get away. The photos and descriptions were spot on. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and gorgeous!! The experience at this resort was just what we needed. We felt very safe. The resort followed every safety protocol. The food was fabulous and pretty reasonable for a resort. We especially enjoyed the Puerto Manjar and The French Restaurant. I also highly recommend making a reservation at the Beach Club to lounge at the pool. All in all it was a Perfect getaway!!! ”

October 2020Grand Luxxe Nuevo Vallarta
Accommodations were superb. Staff was gracious and always helpful. Restaurants (some were closed) were 50/50 in terms of food. Recommend Gong for fish and tempura vegetables, the buffet breakfast and the Hamburger place. Cantina Mexican restaurant and the pool restaurants were sub-par. Overall very happy. We now know where to go eat next time.”
