Description

Enjoy the tranquillity and relaxation in this historic and elegantly restored former winery on a hilltop with panoramic views.

Italy's largest island, Sicily, offers exceptional beaches, charming villages and towns, and an abundance of ancient ruins and archaeological sites. Historically, Sicily has been at the crossroads of cultures, landscapes and cuisine. Wander through the old town and discover the local shops or restaurants to enjoy a nice lunch while discovering this spectacular region.

A must-visit destination perfect for families, friends or as a romantic escape.
This beautiful villa sits on 24 acres of natural private grounds, which are entirely enclosed—ideally located for discovering the historical treasures of the UNESCO-protected baroque towns in South-East Sicily.

This island has long been a gem of Mediterranean culture. Today, it is a fascinating combination of history, gastronomy and ancient Greek temples, Arab ceramics, Norman churches and Baroque palazzos. Nature lovers are in luck as it also offers natural wonders, from the craters of Mount Etna to the still relatively undiscovered southern coast's beaches.

A fashionable and elegant design combines old patterns with modern style in a warm and soft ambience. The perfect blend of champagne and earth colours and wooden decor creates a sense of character and luxury mixed with a rustic atmosphere.

The heart of the house is a double-height galleried sitting room with a vast linen sectional sofa, large TV and Bose music player overlooking the pool and the terrace. Each room features a unique design and style, delighting guests with comfort and a quiet place to relax.

The main bedroom, with a full-length balcony, overlooks the valley with a generously sized bathroom, a wet room shower, twin basins, and an extra large bathtub.

The Cask room has a double bed crafted from the old barrels from the winery. This room also has a single/day bed, ensuite shower, and private terrace.

"Salotto del vino" is a cosy room with a comfortable sofa bed and an ensuite shower and terrace. It doubles as a media room or office

In the separate guest annex, the Guest Master bedroom features a double bed, an ensuite shower room, a whirlpool tub, and large shaded terraces affording spectacular views over the main house and valley.

The Guest family bedroom is prepared with a double or twin bed and ensuite shower room. The room is stylish and faces over the pine forest offering fantastic views.

The Guest sunrise bedroom is furnished with a double bed with an ensuite shower room and large shaded terraces affording s stunning sunrise views.

The outdoor areas are stunning enclosed grounds which are completely private and not overlooked. Featuring a fantastic swimming pool and lounge areas, they are perfect for enjoying on sunny days with a nice glass of wine.
The south terrace is partially covered with a bougainvillaea-covered pergola, perfect for enjoying the views and dining al fresco protected from the sun. Relax on the ample top-grade outdoor furniture around the pool and the main decks.

Beautiful Restored Winery!

This Sicilian property was Gorgeously restored…. To two or 3 very comfortable bedrooms , a Comfortable loungable Living room, rather elegant dining room, good kitchen, (considering what space was there they had to work with), great pool and outdoor lounging area, and our favorite gathering space…. A big outdoor covered patio for breakfasts!! Beautiful natural thick stone walls…. All was comfortable and inviting!! Glad to have the help of Aldo, at airport arrival, we needed him!!! We so loved going for a day visit to Taorimina that we spontaneously spent a fun night there, don’t miss that hilltop town! Beautiful, well-maintained property, commutative owners helping when needed. Enjoy!”

Sicilian Paradise

Villa Palmento is a super stylish house set in the middle of the countryside with incredible views down the valley. The layout for socialising is fantastic with the kitchen, living and dining rooms all opening onto a large dining/living terrace which flows round to the gorgeous swimming pool. We enjoyed many fun and relaxing days and evenings here. The kitchen is very well equipped and stocked and some groceries were left for us as well as the shopping we had requested before arrival. Aldo did this and also surprised us with breakfast pastries the first morning. It was great having him to clean up the kitchen for us every morning too! The main house has 2 lovely bedrooms with a further 3 in the guest house which worked well for us with young adult children who had their own space. The nearby town of Caltagirone is pretty and has everything you need. We even did a ceramic making tour and workshop. Further afield we visited Villa Romana della Casale, Ragusa and Syracuse/Ortigia - all great and worth the trip. We loved our stay, thanks so much Lynda and Gipi and Aldo! ”

Lynda and Gipi have taken a derelict Sicilian winery and turned it into the most beautiful home. Kathryn and I stayed there for 10 days in May. We loved: The location. The view. The facilities: from beautifully equipped kitchen, bathrooms and living areas inside, to the swimming pool, loggia and grounds outside. Above all, we loved the building itself, the restoration carried out with great imagination and attention to detail. An added bonus: Aldo, who looks after the property and its guests with humour, charm and efficiency. Grazie mille, Lynda e Gipi! ”
