Places of Interest

  • Paimpol. On the Place du Martray, real economic and political heart of the city since the Middle Ages, you can see many houses from the 16th century.
  • Cap Fréhel, standing 196ft (60m) on a rock above the sea, is the imposing edifice of Fort La Latte, a fairytale fort offering a clear view of the English Channel and the Emerald Coast.
  • Cancale, a picturesque fishing port, famous for its oysters, with the rocky finger of the Pointe du Grouin points out and protects the entrance into the bay of Mont Saint-Michel.
  • Mont-Saint-Michel, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the 'Wonder of the West' is characterized by the rocky tidal island that holds a 11th century Benedictine abbey and a fortified medieval village.
  • Eglise de Pleubian. Built on the remains of an older church dating from Saint-Maudez and ruined by Norman invasions, the church dates back to the 13th century for its oldest pillars.
