Description

Casa Tonini | Ostuni

"Casa Tonini" is a unique style villa in the south of Italy in the region of Puglia, near the famous city of Ostuni, known as the 'White City' and is one of Puglia's top travel destinations.

One part of the villa is a "Trullo": A trullo is a traditional Apulian dry stone hut with a conical roof.

A maze of streets and alleyways leads you through the narrow streets of Ostuni. The bright white buildings and jewel-bright skies, not to mention the many views of the Adriatic Sea, which is just 5 miles away, give Ostuni more of the feel of a Greek than an Italian city. Not too surprising since it is only 43 miles from Greece and, like the rest of southern Italy, was once part of the Greek empire.

"Casa Tonini" is a stunning, newly-built, 5-bedroom villa sleeping 12, set on 1.9 hectares of land dotted with 101 century-old olive trees, pomegranate and other fruit trees.

Stylishly furnished for and by the owners, this is no traditional holiday villa but rather a chic yet family-friendly Apulian retreat set near Ostuni and the beautiful towns of Valle d'Itria.

The main house is spread over two wings linked by a central living and kitchen area. There are two ensuite bedrooms in each wing, while the self-contained "trullo" is its bedroom and ensuite bathroom.

Three stylish sofas form a playful area where guests will spend many joyful evenings of laughter and conversation. The kitchen has a long wooden refectory table with stools that sit 12 to 14. Scattered here and there are items of antique furniture and items attesting to the rural origins of the property, including two large yellow "capasoni" or ceramic jars.

Touches of wooden elements with a contemporary style and vibrant colours add a lively and elegant ambience.
Modern and classic decor blend gives this private residence a unique character and atmosphere.

All rooms have fully equipped ensuite bathrooms with bidets, showers, hairdryers, and fluffy towels. The beds are larger than usual, with 90x200cm or 180x200cm mattresses.

Relaxing in the private swimming pool and enjoying the weel curated garden will be a must during your holidays.

This is a very peaceful rural area, yet a short car rides away from the many attractions of Salento and Valle d'Itria. Both Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica are 10 minutes away.

Beautiful Spot But Uncomfortable With Her Monitoring on Home Surveillance System

First the good- Well appointed, spacious, new and modern property. Everything was clean and comfortable. Next the bad- be aware that the owner will surveil your comings and goings and activities during your stay with her outdoor security cameras. And is not shy to email you with any dissatisfactions. (After a misunderstanding regarding leaving the outdoor patio lights on, we received some angry emails and we were subsequently reported to ThirdHome.) This kind of creeped us out that we were being surveilled and made us hesitant to use the outdoor patio and pool. But all in all, a nice stay despite the edge.”
