Review of Hacienda Acamilpa: A Perfect Family Retreat

Our family of 16 recently stayed at Hacienda Acamilpa, and we had an absolutely fantastic time. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality by the owner, Andres, and his amazing staff—Liz, Darian, Alan, and the Chef. Each one of them went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The Hacienda itself is a beautifully maintained property that transports you back in time with its historic buildings and lush gardens. It felt like we were stepping into a different era, surrounded by stunning architecture and serene landscapes. The food was nothing short of amazing. Each meal was a delightful experience, thanks to the skilled Chef who crafted delicious dishes that we all enjoyed. Overall, Hacienda Acamilpa is a perfect retreat for families looking to escape and relax in a tranquil, historic setting. We give it a well-deserved 5 stars and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique and unforgettable getaway.”

Historic property with beautiful grounds

Our family thoroughly enjoyed themselves at Hacienda Acamilpa. Andres is a caring host that went out of his way to serve us. He arranged several excursions including a day in Mexico city. He walked as much as we did. He’s a fantastic tour guide with lots of stories. This trip will long be remembered by our family.”

Excellent Family Time

We travelled to an ancient hacienda south of Cuernavaca and 90 minutes from Mexico City. Not many places can accommodate 25 people and we had ample accommodations. There were old structures everywhere for exploration. Other than the staff we had the place to ourselves. It was a great time that will be cherished by all. The historic structures had many stories to tell. Andres, the owner, was attentive to our needs. He has trained his staff well to serve the guests and make them welcome. He loved to share his family's legacy and kept us informed about the local history. Don't miss the side trip to Las Estacas, a beautiful nearby spring with crystal clear water gushing from the ground and forming a river where we all swam and lounged. Our group went twice. Even our youngest were sorry when the week was over and we had to leave Acamilpa and return home.”

An experience of a lifetime - Paradise

What an experience - a holiday of a lifetime - we loved ever minute of our stay at Hacienda Acamilpa - Thank you Andries -( the host) - and his fantastic team of chefs, driver and laundry ladies. They went above and beyond - It is a really magnificent traditional Hacienda - The gardens are incredible and our bedrooms - enormous - with beautiful furniture and modern comforts. We were worried about being there for holy week, however it was brilliant to be part of the celebrations around the hacienda in the small town. Your food was traditional Mexican and wonderful to experience the real thing. Thank you Andries for making a dream come true to visit your beautiful home and introducing us to magnificent Mexico - Best Mojito's ever .... The photographs do not quite highlight the incredibly size of the Hacienda- but was a wonderful surprise when we arrived. ”

An amazing stay!

The Hacienda, Andres, Alan & staff were absolutely amazing! Photos did not do this place justice. The food was so good, and the service was fabulous. Relax, eat, and had so many laughs. Certainly a place to reflect on the past and contemplate the future. Thank you again Andres!”

A Most Magical Experience!

I hosted my 65th birthday at Hacienda Acamilpa and I can easily say that Scott and I, along with our guest, were completely stunned by the beauty of this place. For the first two days we literally wandered around wondering how we could have ever landed into this dream of an experience. Surreal. Andres, as busy as he is, was such a help with the planning. I highly suggest you speak with him about menus for your group, it felt like such a treat to have the cooking staff prepare all our meals and it’s super, super affordable. Really, this seems like the only way to go as the kitchen is fairly antique and it would be very challenging for guests to use the space, I don't recommend this. Sourcing food wont be that much easier so just go ahead and treat yourself! You’ll be happy you did! I could go on about how wonderful this was, but just know the memories we, as a group, created are so very special. We will all treasure these memories for a lifetime. ”

Bucket List Property!

There are no words to describe this extraordinary property or the level of service our group received during our Christmas trip. Being a former history major, I initially booked the property because of its significant place in Mexican History. The hacienda is expansive, stunning and gorgeous. The grounds were astonishing and meticulously kept. Every one of our friends and family members were impressed with the home and the service we received. The pool area was the perfect daily hangout and the kids had a blast playing all day throughout the grounds. All of the meals were planned out and delicious. At night, the staff prepared a fire for us to wind down. I can’t express enough how attentive the service was and Andrés, one of the owners, was super helpful making sure everything was perfect for our week. We highly recommend going with the meal plan. You won’t want to cook here. It’s just too large. Let yourself be pampered and enjoy all that is Hacienda Acamilpa. One day if it’s ever possible, we hope to return! ”
