Perfect Family Vacation

The hosts couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. The cabin is beautiful and oh so comfortable. There is lots of room to stretch out and to relax. The views of the surrounding mountains are beautiful. We hiked up to a couple sections of the Appalachian trail and Big Bald Mountain from the house. You can also go fishing, play tennis or go swimming just a short drive away. We didn’t want to leave this mountain paradise. ”

We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. Host Stacey was very responsive, available, and prompt. We wanted for nothing. This was a cool pleasant place to get away from the Texas heat! ”

A family FAVORITE !

The beautiful and spacious cabin sits in such peaceful surroundings and is SO comfortable-it easily accommodated our whole family of 8 adults and 4 grandchildren! We appreciated how well supplied and organized everything is- especially the kitchen which enabled us to cook all of our meals and store all of our groceries etc. The beds are all very comfy; there are bunches of games for family fun and a number of nearby hiking trails and outdoor activities . Grocery stores are within a 30 min drive and all the attractions of Asheville are within a 45 min drive . The owners are extremely friendly, caring and accessible - always willing to answer any questions we had ! ”

Grouse Thicket Cabin

We had a wonderful stay at the Grouse Thicket Cabin. We stayed in July and were delighted to beat the heat with comfortable weather in the mountains. Our family enjoyed the feeling of being in nature like we were camping when we enjoyed the outside areas of the property. Of course we enjoyed all of the comforts of the cabin when we were ready to go indoors. We also enjoyed touring the area including Biltmore Estate, Mt Mitchell, Hot Springs, Asheville, and the views from Big Bald - a peak within walking distance of the cabin. ”

Views and Cool Temperatures ..... Nothing could be Finer!

Grouse Thicket Cabin was absolutely fabulous and Stacey was a joy to talk with ... I feel like I know her! I underwent back surgery in June and a long recovery ahead .... Stacey and Steve were so wonderful in working with us. My family members are all outdoor enthusiasts and we loved, loved the house! Mornings on the deck with 65 degree weather was just what I needed for a change of scenery. The house was perfect for me as I am not able to manage steps right now. The house sits way atop the mountains so the elevation is high to keep those temperatures cool ... back home in SC it was 102 and we were at 72! You can feel all the love in the cabin ..... we had adult children, grandchildren part of the week and the July 4th festivities were great .. best fireworks show we have seen in a long time ..... the grandchildren enjoyed the pool too and the outdoor fire pit . We had a great time putting puzzles together and playing cards ....... we had several friends for the latter part of the week and it was so nice to be able to sit outside and just enjoy the views and company ... played lots of cards too! The house is SO well equipped with everything you can possibly need and Stacey made sure it was just right! Thank so much to the Lucey's for such a wonderful week! ”
