Frank Lloyd Wright Montana compound - Alpine Meadows Ranch
Whether you are an architect buff or simply looking for a relaxing adventure, Alpine Meadows Ranch is the place for you. By staying here, you will not only enjoy a secluded, nature-filled getaway, but will also help us restore our organic apple orchard and the over 200 acre grazing project to heal our soil and revive FLW's full vision of a working apple farm. The property is adjacent to two million acres of National Forest, countless hiking trails, the beautiful Lake Como and more.
There are four main buildings on the property, when members stay it includes use for the entire compound.
The Cider House:
Our communal gathering space used for weddings, events of any kind or just to cuddle by the fire with one of the best views in the west! Built out of reclaimed wood from the barn and inspired by FLWs use of locals materials, this is the newest building on the property but definitely the one used the most!
The Writer's Cabin:
Built by FLW, the writers cabin is the first building you will encounter on the property. Tucked beneath the trees besides our creek, the building is perfect for a couple looking to get away or the creative who is seeking some piece and quiet. It's a favorite among visitors, our family and our daughter- who uses I as her writing space when she is on the property.
The Farmhouse:
The largest FLW building on the property, the farmhouse is a three bedrooms two baths masterpiece. Designed with FLWs central living concept, the rooms convene on the great room with a massive fireplace of hand placed river stones collected locally. The house has been our families home for years and we hope you enjoy it as we have!
The Suites:
Built in 2000, the suites were originally an old grain barn we turned into two modern living apartment suites each with two bedrooms, one bath. The upper suites offer unparalleled views of the valley while the lower suites are ideally for anyone needing ground floor access. They've become favorites among our friends as the perfect home bases from which to explore the valley.
