The River House, Breckenridge

My three Adult sons and I have had a tradition of taking a ski trip each year to enjoy our favorite sport and some time together. In recent years we are focused on Big Sky in Montana and I have stayed in some beautiful homes out there. This year, we saw that the river house in Breckenridge became available and so decided to try it. We were fortunate to time our visit with record snowfall in Breckenridge, so the ski conditions were outstanding. We enjoyed some great food in town and at the recommendation of the owner, tried the Briar Rose. It was excellent. We also dined at Hearthstone which is also excellent. In fact, I would give the nod for atmosphere and polish to Hearthstone. The house was very nice. However, The house was advertised as being able to accommodate eight people. We discovered that the house really does not sleep eight people (four in our case). Although there were only four of us, I assumed we each would have separate beds (Three kings and a fold out couch). The house has three bedrooms and no fold out couch. Fortunately, or unfortunately as the case may be, one of our sons had to cancel at the last minute. So the three of us were accommodated without a problem. However if the fourth son had come, someone would’ve been sleeping on a couch… I don’t think this is right and needs to be corrected in the The Third Home offering. Had I known this from the beginning we would not have selected this home. All in all we had a great time. ”

Perfect

Absolutely beautiful home. Our stay was perfect. A short walk to the free ski shuttle and the house is so well equipped for an incredible stay. Every room is beautifully decorated and the house is so cosy. A real pleasure to stay here. Thank you.”

A Special Place

This beautiful home was the perfect spot for our ski trip. The location is close enough to town to be convenient but still very private. It is tastefully furnished with some very special pieces. Host Paul and the management company were always available if needed. ”
