Before our trip, I had read the reviews. My perspective is a bit different. The Coppertop Chalet was exactly what we were looking for. It's not fancy, but the ol ski cabin feel, very warm and comfortable. The kitchen is well outfitted. The location in my opinion was ideal ..... not ski-in/ ski out, have to drive to the ski hill, but away from the hustle and great views of the ski hill. We enjoyed the daily outdoor spa after a long day on the hill. ”

Desperately Needs Updating

This place has so much potential: it is set in a beautiful location with Floor to ceiling windows and a great view. External architecture is beautiful; however, the inside is a bit of a nightmare. The property was not clean, the dishes and all kitchenware extremely old - as well as every single other aspect of the place. The walls to the bed sheets were extremely in need of an update. This may have been the worst place I’ve ever booked and I say that intentionally.”

Beautiful views - good home base for a week in Steamboat

My wife and I had a very nice stay but agreed it was good that this was not the week that we hosted friends in Colorado. The floor plan is quirky at best, and better designed for a close-knit family than for a number of couples or small families to share. The master bedroom is a loft above the living room, and most of the square footage is in the home's basement, which was fine for only two people. The kitchen is a small galley kitchen and would not be good for hosting a larger gathering of extended family or friends. The home would also benefit with some updating. ”

Wonderful location & Fun house

We spent a week in Steamboat in June with our 8 year old daughter. The first thing she did was run around and explore the house. With it's many interesting (and sort of quirky) rooms, the decks and hot tub, it was a great place to hang out whenever we weren't adventuring around the area. The huge windows and fun floor plan allowed for multiple leisure areas so we never felt like we were crammed together in the same place. It had everything we needed and more. Note: it is not a super updated, modern home, so if you want modern luxuries, this is not your spot. If you want fun and quirky adventures, this place is perfect!”

Coppertop

We loved our stay at the Coppertop Chalet. Coppertop provides amazing views and easy access to the mountain while remaining free of the hustle and bustle of the resort village. It is quite retro in its decor, which adds to the charm. The owner and caretaker are easy to work with and made the check-in/check out really easy. ”

Steamboat Escape!

This was our second stay at the Coppertop Chalet and we cannot say enough about this unique gem in the mountains of CO. Coppertop is full of style and hidden treasures. I mean, where else can you see an autographed picture of Buzz Aldrin standing on the moon?! And as if this were not enough, Coppertop provides amazing views and easy access to the mountain while remaining free of the hustle and bustle of the resort village. As you can tell we love Coppertop Chalet and will be looking to stay there in the future!”
