Laurelwood is a unique multi-level haven for enjoyment, adventure, and relaxation on Lake Glenville with access to water sports on the lake spring and summer, hiking, biking, golf, tennis, snow skiing, horseback riding, white water rafting, all of the outdoor pleasures that the Great Smoky Mountains provide.

Conveniently located less than 3 miles from the stoplight in the center of Cashiers and less than 15 miles to Main St in Highlands, Laurelwood is secluded yet accessible.

The house provides 4 well appointed levels with plenty of space for all.

The main level consists of a great room with stacked stone fireplace, chef's kitchen and dining room, master suite with stacked stone fireplace, ensuite bath including jetted tub, separate shower and double vanity. All rooms open to top level covered deck with gas grill, dining set, and rocking chairs to enjoy the tranquil views of the lake and mountains.

The top level loft features a queen bedroom and a second bedroom with 2 extra long twins and ensuite bath with shower as well as sitting area overlooking the great room.

The lower level includes 2 king bedrooms, both with ensuite baths, and a sitting/media room with stacked stone fireplace and wet bar. The laundry closet is located on this level, and all opens to another covered deck with swing chairs and a hammock.

The basement level sleeps 6 on 2 triple bunks in the bunk room and also features an entertainment space with pool table which converts to a ping pong table. There is a full bath as well with rain shower and a hot tub on the lower deck, perfect for winding down at the end of the day.

A private dock ensures space for water toys and docking a boat in spring and summer. There is also a fire pit area with 6 Adirondack chairs by the lake.

This special Blue Ridge Mountain location is known as the land of waterfalls and provides many opportunities for hikes to these spectacular sites.

Fine and casual dining, world-class shopping, and spa opportunities abound in the charming towns of Cashiers and Highlands nearby.

Boats and water toys may be rented at Signal Ridge Marina, a mile from the house.

Please note the lake is navigable during spring and summer months and is lowered to control flooding from mid-October through March.

Please note that WiFi can be spotty due to the remote location and lack of providers in the area. If you depend on strong and steady WiFi, this may be challenging.

Laurelwood

This is a beautiful home stocked with everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Lots of space and very clean. The caretaker stopped by within minutes of our arrival to welcome us and show us around the property. We easily rented a boat from a marina just a few minutes away Lake Glenville is beautiful. Overall, a great vacation. Would love to come back.”

Summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains

I was born in western North Carolina but never spent much time this particular section of the Blue Ridge Mountains an hour south of Asheville. Our stay at Laurelwood in Cashiers/Highlands, North Carolina was just what I wanted: a time filled with mountain hikes, beautiful waterfalls and relaxing time on the back porch overlooking Lake Glenville. We drove over to lovely Highlands twice. Being from California, this reminded us of a smaller, less congested version of Carmel. Several family and friends stayed with us through the 7 day stay, with various ones popping in for a few days at a time and bringing Southern treats along with them. The weather was pleasant with a few rain showers that didn't last long. Definitely no air conditioning needed! The house is spacious--especially the huge family room with seating for a large number of people. And our dinner for 10 people was easily accommodated in the adjacent dining room. We had fun playing pool on the lower level of the house but didn't get a chance to use the fire pit in the back yard by the lake. Just to note if you have several couples visiting---the top floor has only one bathroom and anyone staying in the queen bedroom would have to actually walk THROUGH the twin bedroom to get to that bathroom. This inconvenience didn't impact our stay, but it's important to note it. If the guests on that level are of the same family, it should be no problem. We found the owner Celeste to be very responsive to emails and the house manager Jim was eager to answer questions. We totally enjoyed our stay and are still talking about those waterfalls!”
