October 2024Stunning home - tranquil and beautiful.
We had an incredible stay at this lovely home. So peaceful right by the lake with many things to do nearby. The house is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for the relaxing and wonderful stay.”

August 2024Laurelwood
This is a beautiful home stocked with everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Lots of space and very clean. The caretaker stopped by within minutes of our arrival to welcome us and show us around the property. We easily rented a boat from a marina just a few minutes away Lake Glenville is beautiful. Overall, a great vacation. Would love to come back.”

July 2024Summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains
I was born in western North Carolina but never spent much time this particular section of the Blue Ridge Mountains an hour south of Asheville. Our stay at Laurelwood in Cashiers/Highlands, North Carolina was just what I wanted: a time filled with mountain hikes, beautiful waterfalls and relaxing time on the back porch overlooking Lake Glenville. We drove over to lovely Highlands twice. Being from California, this reminded us of a smaller, less congested version of Carmel. Several family and friends stayed with us through the 7 day stay, with various ones popping in for a few days at a time and bringing Southern treats along with them. The weather was pleasant with a few rain showers that didn't last long. Definitely no air conditioning needed! The house is spacious--especially the huge family room with seating for a large number of people. And our dinner for 10 people was easily accommodated in the adjacent dining room. We had fun playing pool on the lower level of the house but didn't get a chance to use the fire pit in the back yard by the lake. Just to note if you have several couples visiting---the top floor has only one bathroom and anyone staying in the queen bedroom would have to actually walk THROUGH the twin bedroom to get to that bathroom. This inconvenience didn't impact our stay, but it's important to note it. If the guests on that level are of the same family, it should be no problem. We found the owner Celeste to be very responsive to emails and the house manager Jim was eager to answer questions. We totally enjoyed our stay and are still talking about those waterfalls!”
