Description

Fully restored to create an imaginative and yet authentically rustic holiday home, this 100 year old farmhouse is now a peaceful place to stay in the Brazilian countryside, and is full of old world character and charm. The experience of waking up to the sound of birds, in comfort and viewing this whole historical scenario will make you travel back in time.

Built in 1910 on the request of an aristocrat from São Paulo, who was also a major coffee producer in the region, Vale Verde Farmhouse was then abandoned for decades. Vale Verde is now a completely restored farmhouse, which was converted into an exclusive Country Estate, keeping many of the original details of this historic property. Built around different traditional courtyard and gardens, Vale Verde Farmhouse is equipped with security systems, ensuring optimal safety and maximum seclusion.

The gate of the Historical Vale Verde Farmhouse opens to an impressive entrance drive, lined with trees, taking you through beautifully landscaped grounds with an antique stone fountain in the enormous walled courtyard. With a beautiful landscaping and refinement in its decoration, this unique property has become an example of safeguarding an historical house in the region. Beautifully gardened inside the courtyard as well as outside, the property is stepped in history, maintaining original period features throughout, such as crockery imported from England, several objects from France and a rich earthenware collection from Germany.

The living areas of this one-story farmhouse have preserved the old beams, the ceilings, the wooden floors, the wall paintings and decorations. In the large living room, the large formal dining table seating 16 creates an inviting space for meals while enjoying the wonderful panoramic views. The adjacent farmhouse-style kitchen contains a large Aga, and guests will be able to enjoy al fresco dining on the outdoor terrace.

The property offers palatial accommodation for up to 10 guests, with a total of 5 bedrooms, each enjoying beautiful views over the surrounding nature. Featuring 4 adjacent bathrooms, each bedroom is furnished with real artwork and antiques, plus luxury fabrics and fixtures.

For spiritual moments, a chapel is located in the outer garden; with some clay walls dating back to the 19th century, the building is home to several pieces of art such as Cusco paintings and old stained glass the glow when light shines through.

On thousands of square miles of land, guests can enjoy pure nature and experience botanical diversity. Surrounded by grape plantations, this unique example of Brazilian rural architecture enjoys clear water coming from the springs that provides a delightful waterfall to bathe in, as well as a magnificent lake for water sports and walks.

With an excellent location between the city of São Paulo and Campinas, Historical Vale Verde Farmhouse is ideal to enjoy a wonderful stay, and provides guests with a large selection of outdoors activities, with several trails and hikes including visits to the local grape plantations and the tasting of the local ‘Niagara grape’.

In about an hour and a half by car, guests will be able to reach São Paulo. Surrounded by rivers that fan out into the interior, the largest city in South America is a unique place to visit, and has no shortage of amazing cultural sites, city vistas and green outdoor spaces. Art lovers will head to the São Paulo Museum of Art, known locally as MASP, which has the most representative and comprehensive collection of western art in Latin America. You will be amazed by the Impressionists and modern masterpieces of Renoir, Van Gogh, Matisse, Manet, Debret, Picasso, Miró, along with 73 works of bronze sculpture by Degas.

Walking will likely be a big part of anyone's visit to ‘Sampa’ (São Paulo's nickname) and guests will take a leisurely stroll along the famous Avenida Paulista, browse the goods and food at Mercado Municipal and enjoy Ibirapuera Park’s walking paths. Marvel at the city from a bird's eye view at the Edificio Italia and immerse yourself in Brazil's favorite pastime at the institutional Museum do Futebol!
