September 2023Hugely disappointing
Communication with the owner was difficult and distressing. I stayed one night only and had to cancel my guests and stay elsewhere. The house had a bad smell and I opened the garden door which then would not shut but remained open all night. I informed the owner who suggested I had broken the door intentionally and has raised a damages claim against me. I kept Third Home informed of the situation. The house is part of a modern estate with very close neighbours. The beach suffers from rock fall and in my view could be dangerous at high tide. Many villages in north Norfolk are lovely and I would think they would be a better choice than Hunstanton. Hopefully my experience is a one off and just unfortunate. However the home is advertised to rent at around £2000 a week, so eight keys and Third Home fees for an October week was not good value by comparison. My recommendation therefore is to give this one a miss. Expensive, difficult owner and unattractive neighbourhood in my opinion. Such a huge disappointment when holiday time is limited and you think you have picked somewhere fabulous for friends and family.”
