Cool Home in a very Cool Setting

This spacious ultramodern home was perfect for a summer visit, with window and blind systems to ventilate and cool the living and sleeping areas ideally. The home has a beautiful pasture and mountain outlook, a very quiet neighbourhood, on many rambling trails, fifteen minutes from spectacular ski area hiking, and only ten minutes walk to the village to address all of our shopping and dining needs. We chose to fly in to Salzburg, an hour’s drive to Reit im Winkl, which is ideally situated for Innsbruck, Munich, Oberammergau and Passau close by. We drive south to Trento to visit family, driving was easy and border crisscrossing was barely noticeable. All in all, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable fortnight in one of the most beautiful settings we have visited. Many thanks!”

Fabulous Chalet

We loved Chalet Louise in Bavaria. It's a very modern, sophisticated and elegant home, with a fabulous master bedroom suite. Great kitchen and cooking facilities including a whole bean coffee grinder and espresso machine and a super large outdoor gas barbecue. The hiking, road and mountain cycling in the area is as good as anywhere in the Alps, and we went to 2 of the recommended restaurants both of which exceeded our hopes.”

Unique Property

Our first thought was that Chalet Louise has been designed to the owner’s exacting specification. This theory was proven by the Chalet’s inclusion in a book on homes made of wood, which makes for interesting reading if you understand German. We really liked the juxtaposition of nature with the angular, clean lines of the property. The bathrooms are really spectacular and the sauna better than in some hotels. Our favourite spot was the loggia which framed the view of the forest and mountain behind and allowed us to sit outside protected from the elements and enjoy the fresh air day and evening. The beds were also very comfortable and all the furnishings and fittings were top of the range. There were quite a few personal items around, although we personally preferred this to the feeling of an anonymous rent, but the leftover food in the fridge was less welcome. Simply remedied though. Children are very well catered for and adults and children will enjoy the table tennis table on the lower floor. Although the house has 6 bedrooms, the seating/TV area was somewhat limited, so is perhaps more suited to families than groups of adults. The area has plenty of sporting activities and opportunities for day trips in both Germany and Austria. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the house. We would be very happy to return some day. ”
