March 2024Winter access is difficult....
The property description does not emphasize how extreme the approach is to this property. The access road, and the driveway are extremely steep (9-12 degree slope ), are single lane and have several switchbacks. Only an expert winter driver could feel comfortable with the access. We had a 6,000 lb 4 wheel drive vehicle with snow tires, so we were able to get up, but there was 6-10" of snow in the drive for 2-3 days. The plowing was not adequate during our stay. The property description does not adequately describe the extreme location, so people should be aware when they book it. We didn't find any road that was steeper in all of Big Sky. The view is beautiful no question, but would be far easier to access in the summer.”
