May 2014Brunello Villa Molte Bello!!!
We loved our stay at Brunello Villa! It is located in the most beautiful Umbrian town of Paciano. The villa was very comfortable and Lucia and Alina were great hosts. We spent an afternoon touring their beautiful farm and getting a cooking lesson. It was a great trip and we would love to return next year! Grazie Lucia and Alina!”

5 star gourmet experience
We flew from New York to Rome and then took the train from Rome to Chiusi about 90 minutes away and rented a Hertz car there. The owners of Brunello Villa, Lucia and Alina, Lucia’s daughter were marvelous hosts and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived to our departure. Their tips on local food, restaurants, touring and shopping were a great shortcut to enhancing the enjoyment of the region. The villa is charming, nicely furnished with lovely landscaped grounds. There are three comfortable bedrooms, 3 baths, and we stayed there with a friend of ours from Los Angeles. There are at least three local restaurants only a few minutes drive from the villa. One in the town center will also deliver! One of the restaurants just outside of town, Il Casale, was fabulous, hosted by a little woman who is an incredible cook and very well known in the area. Her specialties are grilled polenta, bruschetta with Norcia prosciutto and her own superb olive oil. Our favorite course was the wild boar. Since we were there in truffle and porcini season, we benefited from delicious local meals with these delectable treats. The village of Paciano, population of 1,000, is a 15th century dream village that looks like a movie set. The people in the village are very friendly and the local grocer is five minutes from the villa and provides all the essentials anyone could need for their stay at the villa. Nearby Panicale is another 15th century jewel of a hill town. Since Lucia owns an organic olive farm and we were there during harvest time we participated in the processing of olive oil at their mill. Nancy, also took a cooking course for one day and learned a lot from Alina who runs the olive mill and the cooking lessons. They also have an organic winery. We spent our days driving to our old neighborhood where we lived some years ago, towns of Montepulciano and Pienza in nearby Tuscany. We visited the Saturday market at Citta de Pieve during the saffron festival - less than a half-hour away and had lunch on the shores of Lake Trasimeno in Passignano where Deruta pottery is available in several local shops. Best, Nancy and Dennis ”
