October 2024Great stay!
Host was very attentive and communicated well. The property was well kept and well stocked. Great proximity to Yosemite and very scenic drive to get there. We had deer in the backyard every morning. Great stay!”

October 2024Pine Mountain Lake - October, 2024
My husband and I recently booked a week at the Pine Mountain Lake property. We found the description to be quite enticing and the property owner was very helpful and cooperative, introducing us to activities and special locations in the area and in nearby Yosemite. While the homeowner’s welcome binder was helpful, it would've been appropriate and necessary to know ahead of time the limitations that exist with this property. There is extremely limited Wi-Fi and water use. It was not possible to work remotely from that location or otherwise use electronics normally. Water use, including showers and dishwashing, need to be restricted due to both drought conditions and the use of a septic tank. These conditions might be somewhat expected for mountain locations, however, the potential renter needs to be warned ahead of time. We found the mountain location to be quite nice, near a pretty tree-lined creek with an open deck looking out the back. One would expect a mountain property to be somewhat quaint and rustic. Unfortunately, this property is in need of serious maintenance, which detracted from our stay there. It had been superficially cleaned prior to arrival, however more extensive cleaning and repair is necessary. Peeling paint, disgusting outdoor barbecue, outdoor heaters that don't work, junk-filled kitchen drawers, unusable cooking pans, and broken furniture… all in a Third Home listing. Our interaction with the owner before our stay was positive. Is he directly aware of the rundown conditions of the home? It needs more than a “cleaning service” to be listed in Third Home. Our interaction with Third Home during our stay about the conditions was very positive. Our representative, Diane Jensen, Club Policy Specialist, was helpful and understanding. This was our first experience using our Third Home exchange. This did cause us to wonder how carefully Third Home is evaluating new listings such as this. ”
