Pura Vida Hideaway
Nestled within the lush hills of La Trinidad de Pejibaye, this peaceful hideaway captures the pure essence of Costa Rican living, cool mountain air, spring-fed water, and a landscape alive with fruit trees, flowering gardens, and birdsong. Set within Serenity Gardens, this one-of-a-kind retreat invites guests to reconnect with nature and embrace a slower, more intentional pace of life.
Surrounded by greenery and the sounds of the forest, the property comfortably accommodates families and small groups across two distinct living spaces. The primary home is a single-level residence featuring three bedrooms and two bathrooms, designed for easy, open living. Large windows and airy interiors blur the line between indoors and out, while natural finishes and simple modern furnishings reflect the calm rhythm of the surroundings. The twin beds in the main home are shorter and best suited for children.
A separate casita/guesthouse adds flexibility and privacy. This two-level studio-style space includes a full bathroom and additional sleeping area, making it ideal for extended family, friends, or guests seeking a bit of independence while still being part of the shared retreat.
A fully equipped kitchen and outdoor dining areas make it easy to enjoy fresh, local produce, whether sourced from nearby farms, the weekly market, or the property’s own fruit and vegetable gardens. A private path leads down to the river, where clear, cool water invites morning dips, quiet reflection, or picnics beneath the trees.
For those who enjoy exploration, nearby trails wind through the surrounding countryside, following the river and climbing gentle mountain ridges. The Pacific coast is reachable within approximately 30–45 minutes; however, it’s important for guests to understand that one coastal route requires a true 4x4 vehicle and includes steep, rugged mountain roads that can be challenging and potentially unsafe for inexperienced drivers. This type of access is common in rural Costa Rica. For those who prefer a more gradual and comfortable drive, there is an alternate route via San Isidro that is accessible year-round and recommended for most guests.
Evenings are best spent on the terrace as the sun sets and the stars emerge, far from city lights, traffic, and noise. With minimal light pollution, the night sky becomes part of the experience, reinforcing the sense of peace and isolation that defines this location.
With its organic abundance, thoughtful layout, and deeply tranquil setting, this home is more than a getaway. It’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover the balance and beauty of pura vida.
Please note: Parts of the drive to the property include unmarked rural roads with little to no cell service. Guests should plan accordingly and follow recommended directions provided prior to arrival.
